Wonderful place! Varied menu, I settled on the Enchilada plate. Was very tasty with New Mexico spice. Fresh salad and tasty homemade chili. Free first order of homemade chips and salsa! We'll be back!

If you want amazing Southwest/West-Mex, the green chili is out of this world. I ordered Zorro's Chalupa plate. Oh my goodness! The best chalupa I've ever eaten, hands down! And the charro beans are perfect! Great variety of down home cooking menu choices and chalkboard for daily specials. Friendly owners. We will be back!

Their bacon, egg, toast, and hash browns breakfast was cooked to my order and very tasty. The coffee was strong, but not bad.

Basic diner food. Fairly quick service. Small town charm. Friendly little business in a town that must have been nice 30 years ago.

Great little diner, excellent food, and friendly staff/owners. Chicken fried steak was lightly battered but very tender and crispy. Delicious green beans, okra and onion rings too. Hubby loved the hamburger steak with mushroom gravy. Try it out!

We pass through this little town on our way to Magnolia to see my mother and brother. We decided to eat lunch in downtown Calvert at Zorro's Hideaway Food Train. They make everything from scratch down to the homemade pies. We found the food to be excellent. I had the hamburger steak and my wife and sister in law had the cheeseburger. We both had the onion rings and I had a dinner salad as my other side. Being from New Mexico, they also have some New Mexico style dishes and Tex Mex dishes. Open for breakfast and lunch till 3:00 PM. Breakfast buffet. We enjoyed this cafe and will definitely eat here again.

Driving through we read reviews and decided to stop...it was true! Great folks who came from Albuquerque—the enchiladas were heavenly and fresh. He loved the chicken fried steak as well!

My husband and I stopped in for lunch after checking the reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. We both had the Zorro burger and it was great. The onion rings were very good. We also had the homemade chips and salsa...both delicious. We will definitely be back.

Zorro's in Calvert, Texas was great. I like the decor. This was a busy time, so I observed lots of plates being served. The onion rings stand out. I had a $9.99 chef salad. It was fine, but I expected bacon, and crackers or croutons. The turkey and ham are sliced lunch meat. Definitely good.

Made a quick stop for lunch on a late Saturday afternoon. Great halfway pausing point between Waco and Bryan (College Station). It's a family run business that has been around for about four years. The food was tasty and the dessert was worth finding the extra room for. The restaurant was clean and they are constantly working to add personal touches to the decor. The food was freshly prepared and served quickly. The chips are homemade and delicious. I'm glad we stopped here instead of a chain restaurant and would gladly do so again.

The owner is from New Mexico so the chile is the real deal. The chips and salsa are home made and oh so good. Very different from regular chips. My mom got an off-the-menu taco with meat and potatoes. I got the zoro burger, smothered in green Chile sauce. As a side, we got the fried pickles and onions. For dessert we got the blueberry cobbler. Very jammy and thick. A bit too sweet for my taste, but my mom liked it. A nice little find. Will stop in again during our next trip.

Food was good. The owner was an excellent host. Service was a little slow. He ordered hamburger steak and I had baked potato with chili on top.

My cheeseburger was beautiful—a big well-cooked flavorful patty, toasty bun, and delicious pickles. Even the lettuce and tomato were fresh and pretty. My husband enjoyed his hamburger steak, fried okra, green beans, and buttermilk pie. We will remember Zorro’s the next time we’re driving through Calvert at mealtime!

We read Trip Advisor and tried it for lunch. We had the special—hamburger, side, and drink for $5.99. Great burger with generous handmade patty and the onion rings were as wonderful as TA reviews said. What a bargain! We would definitely stop again!
