We were anticipating a really nice experience. It started well; nice place and atmosphere, but tables too close for a private conversation. Our table was too small, we couldn't even fully enjoy our meal because we had no space. The waiter was a friendly man...More

This was our first time going to Jimmy Kelly's. Wow!!! It was excellent! Our waiter, Jimmy (not Jimmy Kelly) was very good at his job. He was very informative about the menu and drinks. This is a cheap place, so plan on ordering something great....More

First went there this past Saturday evening for our 4th anniversary. Always heard a lot of good about this steak house. I had the extra cut filet which is eight ounces. It was cool to perfection for 39.95. It came with a baked potato and...More

Jimmy Kelly's is a great dining experience ALWAYS!!! It is located in an old west end mansion, with plenty of Southern charm and ambiance. Waiters dress in white coats and treat every patron like royalty. I could make a meal on the obligatory "hoe cakes...More

This is a steak house with great tradition. I hadn't been here in years but came while recently here on business. It was wonderful. The steaks are excellent and so is everything else (including the world famous corn cakes). But more importantly the service was...More

I am a fan of aged beef that is cooked properly (rare, in my case.) Didn't know much about this restaurant but it seemed like a unique place and I needed a change from the classic Morton and Ruths Chris chains. I found the service...More

My parents want to bring me here when I'm home visiting in a few weeks, but I've got a gluten sensitivity. Will I have options? Thanks!

I eat there and had no problem but I did tell them ahead of time that I was gluten free. Honestly though I would choose a different steakhouse if it were me. I have found the steaks at Mortons or Kayne Prime or Stoney... More

I don't think so - this place can be pretty laid back - casual and dressy is OK. If you're coming with more than four though, I'd definitely make reservations
I would like to bring my 8 year-old daughter with us. Are children allowed to eat at your establishment?

Sure they are. We started bringing our daughter when she was about 10. Now that she is 23 it's still her favorite restaurant.

Housed in a glorious Southern mansion in the heart of Music City, Jimmy Kelly’s continues to be the standard by which all American steakhouses are measured. Founded in 1934 while the country was in the throes of the Great Depression and just one year removed from the repeal of prohibition, Jimmy Kelly made a promise to himself and his diners. Simply put, he would serve a great steak, a generous portion of whiskey and insure the service was always attentive. Making good on that promise has been the cornerstone of the restaurant’s success and enabled it to survive and flourish. Now over 80 years later and operated by the third generation of Kellys, it has earned a reputation as one of the grand old restaurants not only in Nashville but the entire southeast. Come anytime and enjoy a great steak and a generous portion of whiskey!
