This restaurant is located in the gorgeous Hermitage Hotel. The restaurant is elegant. The drinks menu features interesting choices with a variety of bourbons. The prices are a bit steep, but the food was prepared and presented well. My teens had fried chicken and macaroni and cheese which they enjoyed. The menu features steaks and seafood. Desserts are delicious and... More

We've eaten at this restaurant every time we visit The Hermitage and we have never been disappointed. The food is EXCELLENT and the service is AWESOME. Special shout out to James - he's fantastic, friendly, knowledgable about Nashville, and a great waiter as well. Service is simple excellent.

Just walking into the Hermitage Hotel is worth the visit for a cocktail a the bar. Beautiful historic venue where American fine dining experience started. Perfectly executed southern cuisine. We ordered the fried oysters and fried green tomatoes for apps, both delicious. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection. The side of cheddar grits was something else. The carrot cake... More

I get a call from their hostess this afternoon, February 13th, that they had accidentally overbooked the restaurant, so they had to cancel my reservation. After explaining what a bind they were putting me in, the manager got on the phone, apologized, then offered to by me an appetizer the next time I dined with them, Now I'm scrambling to... More

I was eager to dine at the Capital Grille, but, unfortunately, I was left unimpressed. For appetizers, we had fried green tomatoes--which were very good--along with the meat sampler, which was also very good. This set further expectations high. I had the chop salad, which was fairly bland. The dressing had little taste and not nearly enough blue cheese crumbles,... More

The restaurant is set in a charming hotel that takes you back about 100 years in a nostalgic way. The restaurant itself is a bit stuffy but the staff was friendly. I went for lunch. Ordered the braised beef sandwich and it was delicious. The fries were yummy too. It bit expensive but you are paying for the old money... More

This place is in a beautiful old hotel. I would have given a 5 rating if the dishes had a little more pizzazz. Two of us had scallops and the other had steak. Very lightly seasoned. The scalloped were pan seared but with no sauces whatsoever. The steak might have had salt and pepper. The side dishes were much more... More

It is a nice setting within the Hermitage and the service was good. My steak on the other hand lacked flavor.

We had dinner on a Friday night in January with reservations for 4 adults at 7:00. There was a show at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, so our waitress got us drinks but then told us she had to finish up on the tables going to the show. At 7:45, we begged for some rolls to go with our water... More

I was in town for the first time with some clients and wanted to take them out for a great mean. The hotel where I was staying recommended the Capital Grille. I made reservations and was excited to have a great steak. The place on the inside is very nice and the service was also excellent. The problem I had... More
