We cannot say enough positive things about the experience we had celebrating our first wedding anniversary at Bourbon Steak.
When we arrived to the restaurant (which is accessible to the 34th floor via an express elevator past the elevators for hotels guests), we were immediately wished a happy anniversary and escorted to our table at the window. A “Happy Anniversary” card was on the table, signed by all of the staff members working that evening. The view was as stunning as you would imagine it to be.
The server assistants were attentive; my husband had already finished his glass of champagne, but it was not until I took the last sip of mine that a server assistant (immediately) came to the table. Each dish was delivered appropriately to the person who ordered it without having to “auction” it off. We never felt rushed during our meal. The pace was perfect.
The food itself was divine. It was by far the best meal my husband and I had ever had. We were permitted to bring a special bottle of wine with us (subject to a $50 corkage fee). John’s description of each special dish made it an easy sell. We enjoyed Alaskan Crab Macaroni and Cheese (a large enough portion for two to share), and we each selected a wagyu steak. Each was tender enough to melt in your mouth, and the rib cap was the most flavorful steak I had ever had. Raspberry sorbet served with fresh raspberries was the perfect way to end the meal without leaving us uncomfortable on our way home.
Nicole, the manager on staff for the evening, was an absolute gem. She took such obvious pride in the restaurant and her team. She was genuine, appreciative, warm, and the perfect representation of what a manager should be.
John, our server, deserves a paragraph of his own. He went above and beyond to make our evening a special one. Knowledgeable, warm, and pleasant are only a few of the many positive attributes we could use to describe him. Fantastic server who was a joy to be served by.
The table next to us had just gotten married. The staff was not made aware of this prior to their arrival, but it did come up in conversation with John. He immediately went to pour them champagne as a surprise welcome gift. Bourbon Steak empowers their employees to take that extra initiative to make each guest experience one to remember. John’s choice to deliver the champagne was an automatic response that created a welcoming, warm, memorable experience.
Bourbon Steak has earned a very special place in our hearts (and stomach) as the most magical place to celebrate special occasions. We would gladly return and would enthusiastically recommend it to others.

This used to be my number one place to take people for special occasions because of the fantastic food and customer service. We took my father in law for his birthday. I had put all this in my reservation and asked for window seating since they had never even and his 76 years old.
We waiting forever for or drinks, one drink came back instead of a martini it was a lemon drop martini with an olive in it. They forgot the glass of ice. Service was slow and not up to par with how is used to be back in December. There must be new management and it clearly shows.
I was disappointed for our bill for 4 people was over $600 - the food was great as always but the lack of service ruined the experience.
Oh, I also got a text stating they maybe not be able to put us by the window. Not sure why that would have been the case since we had a 5:30 reservation on a Sunday night and I had made the reservations a month in advance.

We stayed at the JW Marriott and this restaurant is located at the JW on the 34th floor. First, the view is worth seeing, even if you want to just have a cocktail here. We had dinner here, celebrating our son's birthday. Both the filet and the Cowboy ribeye were delicious, cooked to perfection. Brussel sprouts, truffle mac and cheese and the wedge salad were all delicious! We ordered a dessert to celebrate our son's birthday and they brought out two other items on the house. Geoff was our waiter, he was attentive, friendly and his service was top-notch.

We booked one of the private rooms for a group of 12 for a special birthday celebration. I am disappointed to have to say I expected much more than the experience we received.
Here's how I would rate the different parts of the experience:
The view: 10
Outstanding and impressive view from the windows.
The food: 7
Some raved about their dishes and some thought they were so-so, and some settled after sending their steak back twice.
The service: 5
Staff was knowledgeable, but there were empty wine glasses throughout our entire time there and the birthday girl only got one drink all night.
After the meal it took several minutes of waiting without drink service for them to finally bring out the birthday cake. When they did, it sat on the table for at least 10 minutes without any plates or silverware.
We ended up at our table for well over 3 hours.
Bottom line:
We eat out as a group probably 3 weekends a month and usually go to restaurants on the same level as Bourbon Steak at least once a month. Our experience was less than expected, especially after all the hoops I had to jump through signing contracts for minimums, etc.
As expensive as this place is, it does not measure up.
Based on our experience I would not recommend Bourbon Steak for future celebratory get-together's.
For a night out as a couple, I would recommend it mainly due to the view and visual experience of the location.

Been dining around town for a few years now and Nashville's offerings have definitely grown, but ever since Bourbon Steak hit the scene I struggle to convince myself going anywhere else is worth it. The food is absolutely top notch. Try pairing their Apple Salad with an Instant Bacon and prepare to be blown away. Steaks are juicy and flavorful with a big selection of sides to suit any palate. Most importantly though, Bourbon Steak has brought together a team that truly cares about your experience. They're willing to go above and beyond to make your dinner exceptional. A big shout out to Katrina for curating a flawless experience, to the somm Andrew for teaching me a thing or two about opening a bottle of bubbly, and to Issam for keeping our bodies hydrated and our table tidy. Until next time... Thanks for everything.

If you want a romantic setting with a phenomenal service and exceptional food along with an unbelievable view of the city this is your place! Went here for my husband's birthday and to say this was a dining experience would be an understatement! From the time we pulled up until the time we finished our last bite everything was absolutely top notch! They offer valet parking and you can enter using an elevator that is designated just to go to the 34th floor. I would recommend making a reservation and if you're celebrating a special occasion they will absolutely make it a very memorable one. We were fortunate enough to be seated right by the window and at 5 o'clock in the evening we were able to see the city before the Sun went down as well as after sunset. Absolutely the most romantic spot in the entire city. We were able to sit side-by-side and watch as the sun went down while we enjoyed our meal. They have a rooftop bar that has slotting windows which was wonderful the day we were there as it was 65° outside. We started with scallops as an appetizer, they weren't on the menu but Sabrina was happy to accommodate us, then we enjoyed the complimentary fries. We had the 5A wagyu with grilled shrimp and lobster tail as our main course with a side of puree potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Not enough good things can be said about the quality of the food as it was absolutely exceptional! We finished our meal with the beignets and the bourbon scotch sauce which was absolutely wonderful. At the end of the meal you can have the hostess stamp your valet ticket for complimentary parking.

We had high hopes for Bourbon Steak after reading all the great reviews. I've traveled nationally for years and have visited many top steakhouses, so my perspective is one of someone who knows what top quality beef cuts and exceptional service looks like. Long story short, I ordered the Delmonico ribeye at a medium rare temp. It arrived on the rare side, but it was full of grissle and virtually impossible to cut through. The steak knife provided wasn't that sharp, but still should have done the job on what's considered to be a prime cut of beef. Our waiter did not check back with us after the main course arrived, so I had to flag down another employee after a length of time to have the manager come see me to express my concerns. They did offer to fire a new steak, but my wife had finished her dinner by then and I was not willing to wait for another steak and eat alone. Again, had the waiter been more attentive up front, we could have sent the steak back and gotten a replacement, but that didn't occur. I expect great service at a great steakhouse and that didn't happen. I was also so surprised at getting a sub-par cut of meat that I didn't want a replacement. For the price charged, the steak should have been at the perfect temp, tender, and easily sliced. I understand that a bad bit of beef can get past even the most ardent chef from time to time, but my overall experience was poor. I will say that the wine list is exceptional and the bottle we selected was great, the wedge salad was nice, and sides up to par, so this wasn't a total loss, but when you pay a few hundred bucks for an evening out at a prime steakhouse, the steak should be the star and the star did not show up for me that night. Sorry Bourbon Steak, but I will not be back. There are too many other nice steak places who would enjoy my business and provide an acceptable product.

We made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance. Arrived about 10 minutes early was seated almost immediately. Our table was set for 2 with a card signed by all of the staff that said “Happy Anniversary”. The menu was a single page so you have limited options (for picky eaters or those with allergies). Everything is sold separately but the side items are meant to be shareable between two people. Both my husband and I ordered the 8oz filet mignon. He ordered his medium rare and I ordered mine well done. Both streaks were tender and juicy and well seasoned. Our side items consisted of the Mac n cheese and the baked potato. The Mac n cheese was wonderful, the baked potato comes sliced open with sprinkled chives- all other toppings were available on the side. You’re served fries with dipping sauce while you wait (3 fry seasonings with 3 different sauces). I was offered sparkling champagne to start for our occasion. We opted for Fiji water that they leave at your table but will refill your glass for you as you go. The restaurant is rather loud and with the staff wearing masks it does make it difficult to hear. The view was wonderful. Our waitress was great. She explained the menu and then told us about our desert choices (we went with the campfire s’mores- comes out covered and when opened it releases smoke that smells just like a campfire). I was pretty bummed we didn’t get offered any other drink choices and the amount of people that come to your table initially is a little overwhelming but overall we loved the food and had a good time. We struggled to get a good photo of the both of us due to lighting from outside. I think it would be wonderful is if a party is there for a special occasion is if the offered a photo service (take a single photo or two to choose from as a souvenir). Also, the elevator ride was absolutely the smoothest elevator I’ve ever ridden. You don’t feel it start moving and you don’t get the jerky stop.

We went to have dinner with our daughters for our anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had enough water, silverware, and our tables were clean. Our waiter in particular however was not as friendly.
We ordered wagu steak, ribeye, chicken and sea bass. Plus three sides and a bottle of Gamay French wine.
My delmonco ribeye ( ordered medium) came out well done in some spots and medium well in others, I showed it to our waiter and she came up with several excuses.... that’s the way “our mediums steaks look”, and she told me it was the light making it look darker than it really was, I thought a medium steak, was a universal cooking temperature. You would think a $66 ribeye would be cooked right the first time without the excuses.
I spoke with a manager who agreed my steak wasn’t cooked correctly and promptly got me a new steak which came out medium the second time .
The sommelier suggested a terrible sediment filled wine, it was tart and filled with floaters of the left over sediment.
I was happy they had an anniversary card on the table, and I was happy they gave us a small slice of cake.
All in all I will take my business elsewhere, where both the food, wine , and customer service are excellent .

It took nearly 15 minutes after our reservation to get seated. They tried to seat us in the aisle of the main entrance (we arrived at 5, thus we would have been bumped by literally everybody else coming in). While the waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu, the rest of the service was terrible. We waited more than an hour and forty five minutes after our reservation (more than an hour after ordering) for our food to arrive. We didn’t have any appetizers or salads and several tables around us that arrived after us were done eating by the time we got our food. When our food finally arrived, it was not hot. As the show we were going to was starting in 40 minutes, we ate what we could and left. We won’t be back.

I have in fact eaten here on two occasions. The first time with a party of four. At that time, we had thought it was pretty good, and actually had a nice table by a window. Sitting by a window is a premier spot, so expect to BRIBE your host or hostess to sit at a window table.
We all had some type of steak, and I don't recall any issues.
The second visit was drastically different. They sat me solo in a dark corner, and the service level was terrible. The oysters that I had ordered actually came AFTER my dinner plate was set down, so obviously I sent them back. And, they had the audacity to leave them on the bill !!
It may have been an off night, or maybe they're just set up for parties of four or more .... but very disappointed I was.
There are WAY better steakhouses in Nashville to choose from .... maybe not with a view, but definitely better service and food.
Mina might be a famous chef, but he falls short as a manager
I won't be back, but try it at least once to satisfy your curiousity

Spoiler alert! This place was is let down if you are expecting an amazing steak. (See details below)
I always have high expectations for steak houses in Tennessee. After moving to Miami, and being deprived of any truly good steak house, I always use my trips back to Nashville as a time to spoil myself. Some of the best cuts of steak I have had come from Sperry's, and quite often is my benchmark for grading a good steak. Now the ground work is laid, here is my detailed impression of the highest rated steak house in Nashville.
Taking the elevator up to one of the highest floors in Nashville is they way you expect to start a spectacular evening. After getting off the elevator this went downhill (kinda.) Upon my first impression, the great view I expected from the pictures was not as easily found as I expected. Only about 15-20% of the whole area gives you the amazing skyline view. Next, despite having reservations, I was still stuck waiting for a table for a good 15-20 minutes. For a brief moment I almost left, BUT the wait became worth it when we got one of the very few window view seats on the outer terrace.
The complimentary appetizer here is different then your run of the mill bread. You get a selection of flavored French fries and dipping sauces, which were wonderful, and if not careful, can easily ruin your appetite. The majority of the food here, especially the sides were wonderful. BUT and a strong BUT, the steak was not. This is a high price point restaurant and for a $100 steak I was expecting one of the best I ever had, but was sadly let down by a mediocre cut of meat I could find at your typical Mortons for half the price.
If I was rating this place as only a steak house, I would have given only 3 stars, especially for the price. However, the view, If you are lucky enough to get it, and the rest of the food which is well priced, makes up for the lacking in which their namesake is made. Which if I gave a suggestion, should be changed to Bourbon restaurant, to not allude to a dish they do not shine.

Wife and I had a great table in the outside bar area with a fantastic view. The french fry sampler in lieu of bread was an absolute treat. Steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly and sides were plenty enough to share. The Wagyu Rib Cap was worth every dollar.
Sean took care of us during our experience and could not have been any better. Absolutely nailed it with drink pairings and did a great job educating on the uniqueness of the Wagyu Rib Cap. Great guy!
Overall, one of the best dining experiences my wife and I have had in Nashville.

Wow I guess these people thought they could serve anything and get away with it because of the view. Extremely over priced. They wanted over $600 for the same bottle of wine I got at a near by restaurant for only $300 the day before. The seafood was over cooked and the steak had no flavor. Sauces tasted like they came out of a bottle. I would expect the management and staff to be more polished at these prices. Seriously would have enjoyed fast food somewhere better. Gut that place and start from scratch. What a waist for a good location.

Having worked with the Bern's Steak House group in Tampa, FL as the general manager of their sister restaurant for years called SideBerns, I feel that every extraordinary dining experience I enjoy should be shared with those that care to listen. Well, last evening we had one of those experiences. From the gracious hostess, Ashley who provided us with such sincere warmth and kindness even though we had not made a reservation, to Nick at the bar, and ending with a visit from manager AJ, the well-oiled machine of Bourbon Steak blew us away!
Going out for a steak dinner in the JW Marriott where we are staying seemed like the right thing to do with friends who live about 30 minutes away. They parked, rode the elevator up to meet us at the bar called Bourbon Sky. Here is what the property's website says about this amazing bar: "With panoramic views of the downtown Nashville skyline and glass walls that open to allow in fresh, cool breezes, the Bourbon Sky lounge, a literal extension of the renowned Bourbon Steak by Michelin-starred chef, Michael Mina, is the crown jewel of the JW Marriott Nashville." It was STUNNING! And the service that Nick provided us was exceptional. We had intended to eat at the bar but as a party of 4 it was hard to have a group conversation so we were thrilled that Ashley was able to fit us into the dining room.
Our server Geoff and his support team were nothing short of perfect as service personnel. We wanted for not one thing. The explanations of Geoff's favorites were so helpful and he led us through the menu with precision. The tuna tartare appetizer combined tableside was one of the best we have enjoyed and we have tried many!
Three of us enjoyed the filet mignon and it was scrumptious, perfectly prepared temperature-wise, and worth every cent. The side for the table of brussels sprouts were some of the BEST any of us had ever enjoyed. The potato puree on the other hand was lackluster and simply like creamy mashed. I know that Geoff said it's one of the guests' favorites but we should have gone with something else we all agreed. My husband had the Delmonico special and loved it. We said "No" to dessert and were gifted with some Bourbon Steak caramel corn with chocolate.
Manager AJ is running a GREAT and finely tuned machine at Bourbon Steak and we let him know how much we were enjoying our evening. Sarah seemed to be everywhere helping everyone. What a bundle of joy and energy they all exude.
