First time through Yea for breakfast and came across Marmalades. Apparently new owners and can tell you this was an incredible experience. Super friendly service, coffee wonderfully strong as I requested and food just amazing. Ordered a lot of breakfast extras and all were so delicious, poached eggs perfectly runny, best bacon, herby home made hash browns and all just yum. Didn’t order the beans, as i don’t usually like them, but tried my partners and I would order a full bowl.

My friend and I have been here 3 times during our time in Yea and we can’t fault the wonderful service and delicious meals. Staff are fastidious about checking vax certificates for those eating indoors, which is always a great comfort. I can highly recommend the ‘twosies’ for breakfast - 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 pieces of sourdough. Even though I have my eggs hard fried, you can taste the freshness in every bite.

We are usually drawn to a cafe that portrays a big juicy hamburger on their page. But we were wanting a light meal and we almost bypassed this sweet cafe. Thankfully we ventured in and had a squiz at the menu. We loved the food and the service was quick and pleasant. Next time we will return for the big juicy burger

Such a gorgeous building and decor but we eat out for quality food and a positive experience, this cafe failed in those areas. The welcome was friendly but that is where the good experience ended. The food was just ok, serving size was poor value, there is NO flexibility in the options. No late breakfast which is just so outdated. The staff are gloomy and the barrista was just plain old rude and unwelcoming. We won't go back and they also missed out on my usual big spend up on local produce while on holidays.

As you open the door to this step back in time, you are hit with the most delicious fragrance of food made with love, and coffee served with a smile. Jane, Byron and the staff are always super welcoming, and cater to all budgets and appetites. Do not miss an opportunity to spoil yourself, and maybe pick up some local produce and handmade products while you dine.

We drive through Yea often and this place has the best chips we’ve ever had! Add to that their burger with home-made patty and you’ve got a winner. It’s cafe-style food but really tasty in an amazing old mercantile store. You’re surrounded by art and home made items, all adding to the ambience. Staff are friendly and helpful and the art displayed in the courtyard is well worth seeing. I can never leave without buying something and I have never regretted anything I have bought or eaten here.

We loved the quirky character of this cafe. We had lunch one day and breakfast the following day. All meals were tasty, especially their vege wraps and seasoned chips. I would also recommend the fruit toast with cinnamon butter. And good coffee to top it off!

Stopped here for breakfast on the way home to Canberra, after a busy weekend in Melbourne. Quaint interesting cafe. Very friendly and happy staff. Clean, tidy and welcoming decor. Two of us had scrambled eggs with either mushrooms or avocado - excellent scramble, nicely seasoned - generous sides. Benny Pesto with crispy bacon, runny poached eggs and spinach. Delicious. Just enough pesto in hollandaise to be tasty and not overpowering. Bacon was generous and cooked how I liked and asked for. Overall we will be back. Fast service with deleicious food a d very good coffee.

On a road trip Through NE Victoria we called into Marmalades - the building is a very old spectacular building that is atmospheric . We were immediately told , “the kitchen shut in 13 minutes” , that’s fine but there better ways of welcoming us. The flat white we ordered was pale and VERY flat !!. We politely asked if we could have (what is normally), a flat White we were told “that’s the way we make it around here !” .. it took a bit of persuasion with the waitress to get another... Aussie’s like a GOOD cup of coffee, and shouldn’t have to argue for a replacement Hence the 3 stars

We wanted breakfast in Yea recently, so went to Marmalades. It was 8.00am, breakfast time. The lights were not on, the door was ajar. Called to see if someone was there, and was met by an abrupt and rude voice. I asked about breakfast, and was told they don't open until 9.00am. Not good for travellers who need to move on. The local bakeries were doing a roaring trade, and Marmalades was missing out!

This quaint cafe serves good food and fine coffee. The decor takes you back in time and has a certain charm. The service was good and we were very happy to have lunch here. Simple fare, done well.

Marmalades is our top spot that we visit regularly! It has beautiful coffee, delicious donuts and awesome food. Jane, Byron and all the staff are so welcoming and just beautiful!! We love going there and do so all the time.. the gorgeous courtyard is so tranquil to just sit and have a coffee or a wine and in the colder months, tables inside near the fire are a must. Marmalades is just the best and we love it! Definitely worth visiting- regularly…

Terrific cafe. We’ve been here a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the fruit toast and a coffee only this morning. Both were delicious and the former was presented so nicely. The all important bread was delicious. It’s probably the best fruit toast I’ve ever had. Bravo!
