I would like to review the restaurant at this hotel please. We visited last week and it was very pleasant. You have the hotel listed but not the restaurant.

Reviewing Trip Advisor we planned to go to The Peppercorn Hotel in Yea for lunch. We had heard many good things about it but unfortunately when we arrived it was closed regardless of the sign being outside to say it is open for lunch and dinner. Our idea then was to drive down the main street to see what was open for lunch. We wanted something more than a bakery and a little fresh food cafe and the first place we came to was the Royal Mail Hotel, it looked open so we went inside and enquired if we could get lunch here. We were assured we could and we were advised to choose a table I picked up a couple of menus and we walked into the dining room. We chose to share our meals which were a salt and pepper squid and a Moroccan pizza and added a couple of Sauvigon Blancs to have with lunch. Ours meals came out and I have to tell you we were very pleasantly surprised and we felt that we had lucked out with coming here. We would both highly recommend this hotel for lunch, the quality and quantity of food was exorbitant, the prices were good and the service was excellent. Make this a place you visit when coming to Yea.

A very short review from me.
The service, atmosphere, food, cleanliness and friendly staff was exceptional.
The cheese/garlic bread came out piping hot as did our chicken parmies.
They were perfect, hot chips and lovely fresh salad.
Definitely value for money!
I highly recommend dining here and I know that we will be return customers.

Perfection and best meal we have had in such a long time. We have been on the road for 6 weeks and this was such a great little find. I had the the calamari which was fresh and tender my husband had the steak sandwich which was also very well cooked and melted in your mouth. Definitely worth stopping and having lunch or dinner. The pub is also very clean and staff are welcoming.

Was told to sit outside upon arrival for lunch. It was 12 degrees.
We came back inside and said we’d like to sit inside as it’s too cold and the bartender was pissed off. When asked why it was a problem to sit inside he said ‘it was to keep the TAB area free for punters’. It’s 1:30pm on a Monday, there’s 1 person at the bar and 2 people inside at the dining room.
With current Covid restrictions apparently there’s only 10 allowed inside and he’d rather keep that space free ‘just in case’.
We’ll never come back here ever again.
The Peppercorn up the road has WAY better service with friendly staff and beautiful food.

Absolutely love The Royal Mail, the best food in town!! Alistair is always happy to accommodate. Food is amazing and the wine list is great!! No matter whether you are here for lunch or dinner you will never be disappointed.

A group of 7 of us had rooms upstairs for one night, and dinner.
Alistair was very considerate and responsive during the booking process and showed us to our rooms, which were very comfortable and nicely decorated. He also showed us where to safely store our bikes.
Kids played cards in the upstairs lounge till late. Dinner was long in the preparation but very well cooked and everyone was happy. The bistro was busy and the pub is obviously a popular destination. Would definitely recommend staying here. A great stopover on the Great Vic Rail Trail.

Called in for Sunday lunch. Did make a booking as it does get busy. Allister always keeps a table or two free for drop ins. We go there usually once every six weeks for a meal always great food. The portions are big with the price within budget.

Great little pub, wonderful meals and very quick service. I had the scotch fillet, cooked exactly as ordered with a lovely salad and nice chips. My partner had the schnitty sandwich and rated it as outstanding. Again served with chips and salad.

We called in to this venue for some lunch with some friends recently. I wasn't sure if there would be anything safe for me to eat as I have coeliac disease but after a chat with the chef and confirming there was something that was gluten free with no traces I enjoyed the most AMAZING salt and pepper calamari in my entire life! My partner also ordered the same dish and we both loved it. The kids meals were good and tasty and our friends meals were also really good! The food was really good and we can't wait to go back again soon!
