Friendly staff, fab food!

We were on our way home from camping and our car broke down in Yea. After calling the RACV, we ended up needing a part for the car we couldn’t get until the following Monday (today is Saturday). We decided to stop in at the Country Club Hotel for a cold drink while we worked out our options. It was a hot day and the cold air conditioning was welcomed. We recounted our tale of woe to the staff who were very sympathetic. After our cold drink we went for a walk around town and decided our only option was to get a tow truck for our car and trailer and get home (there was no accommodation available due to a local horse race and a long weekend so we couldn’t wait here until Monday to get the car part as there was nowhere to stay). We decided to come back to the Country Club Hotel for some food and drinks (my husband and I and two kids). The food was delicious! Kids had burger and chips, nuggets and chips and my husband and I shared the croquettes with salad and the cheesey garlic bread. So good!! Then we noticed some other people walk in and try to order food but the kitchen had closed. We realised then that they had served us our food after the kitchen had closed! When we mentioned it to the staff they said after what we’d been through, it was the least they could do. All in all we loved this place. Great staff, fab food. Highly recommend!!

Nice meal but rude owner

We came here with my family of 4 after having sat in a long traffic jam coming back from a camping trip. We were tired and hungry. The owner was not happy to see us at all. We hadn’t booked, and he said the restaurant was full despite there being an empty table right in front of us. He reluctantly said we could have that one but he had to clean it first. Ok, fine, not sure what the issue was there. We ordered and had to wait for 40 mins for our meal. When 30 mins in I asked him if our meal was coming soon, he said that we ordered only 10 mins ago, and that I had to be patient, and he also called me ‘darl’ in every sentence which I found quite condescending. I said we ordered 30 mins ago and it was hard to tell my kids that. I found this so rude. Thankfully the meal was delicious but I won’t go there again.

Mid week winter lunch

We have been to this venue before so decided to dine here again and it was a great decision. Seniors Porterhouse steak, the meal had perfectly cooked but still crunchy vegetables, crispy chips, with perfectly seasoned and cooked steak. Both the peppercorn and mushroom sauces were delicious. We also had the Garlic bread, the perfect accompaniment to our meal. We sat in the Beer Garden as it was a sunny winters day it was great as we had our dog too. Dogs are made to feel welcome with quite a few water bowls scattered around and tables where you can hook their leads onto. Inside the pub is very welcoming, maybe next time. All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back.

This is one of the worst pub meals we have ever had. We had the impression they were good for vegetarians but only two mains options, one an “Indian” curry and the other a “Mexican salad”. I opted for the latter, it was $28 for a pile of things assembled on a stale baked tortilla, beans from a tin not cooked in anything, horrible bought salsa it was unbelievable for the price. Mum had fish and chips that were also average and a badly made gin and tonic. Outside was beautiful though. Inside so basic. Maybe just have a drink outside don’t bother eating here.

2020 Visit with Family

Visited with family for lunch and arrived at 12 noon and just started to get very busy. Our meals arrived pretty quick but some of the food was over cooked which spoiled the lunch. Will visit again to check if any changes in the quality.

Efficient friendly staff and fantastic food was a great way to spend our last dinner stop of our holiday. Spotted cow bistro allows a beautiful outdoor seating area and our meals were delicious (lamb cutlets meal and mexican salad meal). No hesitations in recommending this place to others.

After receiving no service at the Royal Mail we chose to try the Country Club Hotel. A beautiful garden suited us on a beautiful autumn evening. The meals were excellent as was the service. Well priced also.

Great atmosphere & delish meals

Had a great family meal for Sunday lunch in January. A beautiful sunny day, lovely table outdoors and an attentive waitress (who let us move our table out of the way of the overhead cockatoos!). Delicious Calamari shared as an entree, and then Parmas. So fresh, quality ingredients, perfect. Great local cider too! Would definitely return.

Absolutely fantastic kids friendly spot. Nice paddock at the back of the pub. Pub has play area with play equipment for kids. Food is fabulous and customer service was unremarkable. A must stay for people travelling through Yea!!! Will be staying again. Is a busy pub recommend booking ahead for dinner or lunch.

Good Pub Dinner

Tuesday night in Yea and your dinner options are limited. This pub’s bistro was very good. It was warm and cosy inside. The menu had plenty of choice and our food was delicious. The bar range is extensive too.

An awesome find.

One of the best pub meals ever. Compliments to rhe chef. Beautiful presentation and melt in your mouth food. Had the Seniors Roast and Seniors Pot Pie. A great find. Will be back!

Lots of options for seating

I made my way for a quick trip over to Yea... it may be one of the last trips to Yea as I am moving on from the North-East of the state... and I really wanted to find the old cemetery as I had found the new one and it wasn't that exciting. When I found the old one I really enjoyed looking at the history...so after an hour or so there, I decided to look around for somewhere to have lunch. I have honestly been to many of the places in Yea so I wanted to try something different. I headed to the pub and was delighted to see how beautiful it was when you enter... lots of brick and stone work. The staff were professional. I ordered an entree and a cocktail... the cocktail- a tequila sunrise. It was the perfect light lunch... but the cocktail was really average. The premise of the cocktail is that it's meant to look like a sunrise instead of a pink drink.
