We thoroughly enjoying our dinner at Poachers. The staff were friendly and accommodating - particularly the bar staff that were lots of fun.

Randomly chose this pub for tea during a recent stay and what a delight it turned out to be. Enjoyed a delicious dinner (Surf & Turf) and partner had a traditional parma and thoroughly enjoyed both. Staff were fantastic given their young age and made...a great coffee. Will definitely return!More

Come to the local pub as many places weren’t open on a Tuesday night. Glad we booked!! We got there as the bistro opened and glad we did. The place was booked out and we were advised to order early as a large table was...arriving. We did so and it was great. The service we received was smiles and very friendly- nothing was a big issue and staff were great. The food selection wasn’t huge but something for everyone. We had barramundi, chips and salad and my boy had spaghetti bolognese - both servings were very generous and delicious. Would definitely go back but make sure you book.More

If this place was number 2 of 19 in Rutherglen, then it's about to take a dive off the cliff. I understand it's new management and I think they are trying with limited staff. On the day they also only had one chef as another...had called in sick. However 1 hour 40 minutes for lunch is just too much for basic pub food. The food was average at best when it finally came out, but the steak sandwiches being raw didn't help. Could forgive all of that somewhat but when others that come in half an hour later get their food 20 minutes before us, and the table that ordered directly before us gets theirs 20 minutes after us, the organisation clearly needs a lot of work. A free round of drinks attempted to smooth it over but given we'd already had a few rounds more than we intended while we waited, weren't really all that welcome. Just some basic communication apologising and giving us honest updates would be appreciated rather than the "you're next" generic answers. Hopefully it gets sorted soon but be warned for now that the wait is long for ok-ish food.More

We were looking forward to the new owners and a changed menu. Sadly after an hour waiting we checked, and they’d forgotten to put our order in. Not really any excuse for a pretty quiet Monday night. They refunded us, thank you, and we had...a wonderful Chinese meal at the Star Hotel. First choice next time!More

We had dinner in this hotel, it was well organised with checking in and tables spaced out enough to feel covid safe. Food was far too much, the parma could have shared between the two of us.

Had a terrific vegan pasta here, nothing was too much trouble and the prices for food and at the bar were terrific. Nice country style meal at a nice country pub.
