Yes it needs 3 terrible's! We decided to eat in the bar/bistro rather than fine dining as we were just catching up for lunch. We started off the meal with choosing 2 items that weren't available, giving the all ready limited menus that left approx 5 items to choose from. The beef, rosemary and red wine pie, do not touch, it... More

We had heard that this was a high end food venue, and there were rumours of the need to book well in advance, but we thought we might squeeze in for lunch on a Friday Not a problem, the restaurant was fairly quiet this particular day. We sampled the home brewed lemon-verbena and orange ale which was a refreshing surprise.... More

The restaurant deserves all the credit given and more. We first heard of this place from "No Reservations" a popular travel show that we watched constantly in the States. Anthony didn't lie when he suggested that this restaurant could be considered the best in Australia. Though the chef has changed since Anthony Bourdain's visit, I found that the experience lived... As we left after our meal, we were presented with a beautifully packaged copy of the menu as a memento of our experience. On arriving home we opened it and laughed out loud to see that it was not the menu we had eaten - ironically reminiscent of the lack of interest we felt from the front of house staff... More

Dear Herm0ine Thank you for your review. You are one of our return guests who enjoy good food and i am so sorry the final polish was not there with the service you received at dinner. The error with the menu and the lack of "Royal Mail hospitality" is simply not acceptable. I will be discussing internally with our term... More

There is a fine dining side and a pub side. We did not have the $150 per person for fine dining so we went to the pub. They would not let us order the special (1 hr early) so we got the chicken pot pie. A local couple came in (thinking as pub worker was chatting up a storm with... More

On a special occasion we enjoyed a degustation at the Royal Mail. We chose the 5 course with matching wines and from the minute we stepped into the dining room it was clear that every detail had been considered and this was a well oiled machine. Quiet, elegant and calm, the service was delivered with the kind of experience that... More

One year on since this visit and we still remember our stay and dinner. Very good food, innovative and fresh in a good sense without always having to find the spin in textures. And decent prices, which always help.

We came here on a Thursday night to celebrate my husbands birthday. We elected to have the 8 course degustation with paired wines. What a feast! Firstly, there is a lot more than just 8 courses, so don't eat anything for the whole day and you should fit it in! The food was sublime, fresh from their kitchen garden and... More
