This is a terrific location to watch the madding crowds surging down the Corso, as you sip a vintage wine and feel superior to the hordes of tourists as they disgorge from the ferries. The lunch menu was excellent, and a generous Greek Salad and a tasty Pub Pizza and we were ready to face the world again. Thanks to... More

Have eaten here a few times now and if you want a decent meal at a reasonable price then this is hard to beat. We went there on a packed Saturday night and were really surprised how quickly our pizzas were served. Found the staff to be attentive, cheery and very customer focused. The only annoying thing for me is... More

Food choice is really big and prices are perfect. The food came out quickly and portions were big and very tasty. Restaurant has many rooms, very bright and beautiful. Staff was helpful and smiley.

Service was not great, felt as though the staff were avoiding us! Had our food brought out before our drinks which is never good. Food was tasty. Cocktails were sooo overpriced for what we got (do not recommend them). Lucky there was a nice atmosphere and we were in good company.

Lunch was quite reasonable ($40 US for lunch for 2 with drinks). You order and then they bring the food out to you. My pulled lamb sandwich special was quite tasty.

We ordered 2 items and were told they come from different kitchens so we would not be dining together. Basically all they serve is glorified pub grub and you could get it anywhere in Australia. Average would be the best way to describe the complete meal once both parts got to us.

Food was good but a few staff were very rude which made the whole experience unpleasant. It wasn't even busy and the staff gave the impression they really didn't want to be there, and were rude from the moment of ordering. We even had to chase up the kids colouring packs which they forgot, these were then just dumped on... More

Can't recommend the venue and service highly enough. All was organised with ease and went off without a hitch due to the great attitude of the event manager, Rhys . Thanks to the Ivanhoe we had an unforgettable night.

Spent a few hours here after some time on the beach, and was not disappointed. It offers great food at an excellent cost (17AUD for a great burger and chips) as well as 6AUD for a schooner of Fat Yak. Service is really good and staff very polite. Food is served promptly.

The Ivanhoe Hotel, a much-loved local pub, is located in the heart of The Corso in Manly on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Offering a refreshing, timeless and sophisticated setting, The Ivanhoe Hotel has a strong emphasis on food, quality and produce. Behind the magnificent heritage facade, The Ivanhoe Hotel's interiors channel a Hamptons-inspired coastal beach vibe while retaining the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere of Manly and a local pub. Boasting 16 indoor and outdoor, relaxed all-weather spaces over three floors, including two of Sydney's most impressive rooftop bars, The Ivanhoe Hotel's spaces are perfect for lunch, dinner, drinks or a night out on the town. The variety of different areas throughout the pub allow guests to tailor their own experiences; whether it is casual large lunches with the whole family, afternoon cocktails in the sun with friends in one of the open-air courtyards, quiet corners for a quick bite to eat or late night celebrations in the surf clubhouse-style second floor bar and open-air rooftop, The Pines. These spaces are also perfect function spots for intimate groups right up to large events of 900 guests. The Ivanhoe Hotel is also home to a boutique bottle shop as well as a dedicated sports bar, situated next door to the main pub, offering one of Sydney's best venues for watching sport with full TAB facilities.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
