I only really discovered Ramen on a trip to Tokyo last year. It's addictive. This place has a reputation well deserved for authentic Japanese noodles - relatively cheap and cheerful. Small but with a nice local Japanese ambiance. It's a "fast food" formula that delivers. Roughly $15+ per head. A good place for a quick and easy bite. Not a... More

This type of restaurant would be completely inauspicious in Tokyo, or Fukuoka, where Ryo comes from. And that's what makes it great. It's wonderfully authentic Japanese Ramen, with a delicious bone broth. It's cosy and unpretentious inside, service is quick and efficient, and there's always a line outside. You might jag a table more quickly if you're flying solo. A... More

What separates the novice from the pro ramen is the broth. Rio pride themselves with their slow-cooked bone broth. The soup is thick and oozes sophistication. Even when it rains or hot during summer, there's often a massive queue outside, waiting to get a bowl of this delicious wonder

This ramen is worth the wait. It's absolutely phenomenal. You might be packed in like sardines, but it's worth it. Food is super fast, staff is friendly, and the ramen is so good.

I visited Ryo's branch in Bondi Junction with family. I spend in Japan around a month every year for work and eat a lot of ramen. Ryo's in BJ has good atmosphere and service (although a little bit of space between tables will be better), but the main taste was salt. We ordered different varieties of ramen, but after first... A must try of all ramen lovers. My partner and I are addicts of the ramen that this establishment produces. The noodles are just right. Both the pork and chicken broth are authentic and there are plenty of happy sides if ramen is not your thing. There is usually a wait outside as there they do not take bookings. Very... More

I don't go here that often anymore, only occasionally with friends or when I'm craving ramen but I've always had a good experience here. There are chicken or pork based soups with 10 different styles. There are also comfort dishes like curry and rice balls which are also worth a try but realistically you'd go for the ramen and if... This restaurant is some sort of an institution in Crows Nest: every time I drive past there is always a line outside. Unfortunately the ramen doesn't live up to expectations, with a rather oily broth. The service is relatively slow (hence the line).

My friend and I were heading home along Falcon Street, Crows Nest, at around 1.30 pm, when she remarked that she'd noticed that this particular restaurant always seemed to be very busy at that time of the day, so we decided to check it out. The unfussy external appearance of Ryo's small frontage is continued inside. A relatively small space... More
