Staying nearby we called in one evening for a drink and meal. Service was excellent, even though the young lady was on her own behind the bar and things got a little busy. She was jovial and smiling and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, very tasty and very good value for money. If you're in the... More

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch at the Horse and Jockey in early January. Extensive menu, and having missed my Christmas Lunch I had the turkey which was delicious. Others had the sizzling steak, roast beef and salads. The meal was served by a very cheerful waitress. Will definitely go again.

My wife and I were spending a few days in a lodge near by over Christmas and happened upon this lovely little pub. Friendly staff beautiful old building. I had the best mulled wine I've ever tasted, strongest too, and the best BBQ ribs ever too! Which is saying allot as I love ribs and order them where every I... More

Called in on the off-chance and were seated in the restaurant, very pleasant room, good attentive service and VERY good food, we had a range of meals from a cheese baguette to belly pork and it was all well cooked and very tasty. Will definitely visit again.

In a small town where not much happens out of season midweek we called in to kill a few hours. Its quaint without being too olde worlde. Drinks prices reasonable, pool table 50p, pay for Duke box if you want any music. Didnt eat here but didnt spot much dining activity available beyond pizzas or pub grub. Nice atmosphere.

This is great place. We have stayed here in both summer and winter months, drunk in both bars and eaten in the additional restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are fantastic, food is proper high quality pub food and the room was just lovely. Can't recommend this enough - the locals add to the atmosphere and have been... More

undecided where to eat we did a quick tour of the village and found this little gem. The pub was busy with a good atmosphere. We ate in the bar as it was nice and warm and ordered the sizzling steak and lasagna. We enjoyed so much that we went back the following night. This time we settled for the... More

Sometimes it's easy to forget to write a review for a local restaurant. However, I just found these photos and thought the food was to good not to share. I attended a 50th party and the evening was perfect, food really was amazing and plentiful. The staff went above and beyond to make the night special.
