As promised returned after last times not so brilliant experience. This time it was spot on again: perfect steak, crispy chips, good beer and service.

It’s no coincidence that you’ll see the same faces if you visit The Georges regularly, the wonderful atmosphere, attentive service and delicious food has made it a go-back-to favourite for years. Called in for a quick mocha and was greeted with calm music and Christmas vibes. It's always a pleasure to visit here

Generally a big fan of the Georges but this visit just not on form. Overcooked steak with no table check to comment. Will be back, have no fear, but hope it is back to best next time.More

Don't visit often but once again we had a lovely meal. If you fancy something a little different this is the place. Good food, good & quick service at a reasonable price.

Very friendly staff offering excellent service and food. The sirloin steaks were cooked to perfection. Fantastic deserts rounded off a great lunch. Even found a replacement Dowsing pendulum in the shop.

This is an excellent slightly alternative cafe/restaurant and whacky shop, selling new age and fairtrade goods from around the world.

The George's (Est 1989) is a Local Independent Restaurant and Shop serving freshly prepared food with locally sourced ingredients. The ambience is unique and relaxed and we serve food all day. There is a delightful walled garden to the rear with plenty of sheltered seating and stunning views over the Town, Castle and surrounding countryside.
