My partner and I have eaten here many times and it has become one of our favourite places to eat in ruthin. The food is always outstanding. They offer a wide range of food and cater for everyone. The service is always excellent and friendly. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Would recommend.

Four of us went for pie night on Monday...... my son (18), me (late 30's) and my parents (70's) and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We all had the vegetarian pie even though only I am actually veggie. What a delight! Freshly cooked food in a lovely, comfortable environment. The food is beautiful!! Thank you Dan and the team!

We arrived without booking but were welcomed and accommodated. The food was delicious and well-presented. We had smoked fish and warm salad followed by lemon Posset. All was delicious. Service was prompt and friendly.

The newly decorated restaurant and bar area has given the place the boost it truly deserved. The food was lovely and reasonably priced, although the menu is small. I had the duck and my boyfriend had the fish and chips. I would say the duck was a little overcooked but other than that I was very happy. I would also... More

Visited this pub on Wednesday night didn't book but they did accommodate two adults one child. Nice cosy pub, food average, waited a good while between courses even though they wasn't really busy, I think it's over priced for a pub, don't think I would go back.

It was great to see thi traditional village pub being rescued from oblivion by the new owners. They have refurbished the interior to a high standard and there is a pleasant beer garden to the rear. The dining rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. We went for an ad hoc meal on Saturday evening. There were plenty of other diners... More

Went for an ad hoc meal at short notice. Not only did they accomodate nine people ( including two toddlers) and feed us all, but they did it with patience and kindness. The food was excellent all round and they managed to supply our very varying needs and choices perfectly. I cannot reccomend this place highly enough. Will certainly be... More

Description
This stunning, 16th century public house has been at the heart of Llanfwrog life for several centuries, having served travellers and locals on the outskirts of the beautiful medieval market town of Ruthin for nearly 500 years. Our historic Grade II listed building has recently undergone a major refurbishment, bringing the inn and the facilities on offer up to date without losing any of the charm and character that have made it such an enduring and enchanting feature of the picturesque Vale of Clwyd for hundreds of years. We also have a brand new beer garden with 6 individual patios, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The bar itself offers a fantastic selection of draft beers and lagers - including locally produced ales from the renowned Buzzard Brewery - while our impressive wine list has been hand-picked for us by our very own wine importer.
