Me and friends often go here and I've had the food which is very nice in my opinion, despite the previous reviews. I've never had a problem with it, toilets clean, as we're tables and staff pleasant. I think a lot of the people here are pretty picky when it comes to it as I've been here loads and never... More

I have been a regular drinker at the Gold Cape for 10 years. Over the last year or so, standards have seriously dropped. The pub is dirty (especially the toilets) and badly in need of a make-over. The choice and quality of the beer has deteriorated. The pub is probably the worst Wetherspoon pub I have visited - a let... More

I won't say a bad word about the staff and recognise that it is a wetherspoons so we can't expect the earth. The issue I have is with how desperately boring the ale choices have become in there. Thank god for the ale house up the road where you can get some level of punchy, modern ale beyond a bottle... More

Visited here for lunch whilst staying near the area over Easter weekend. We were very disappointed with the presentation of the inside. We've been to many wetherspoon pubs to eat and this one has to be the scruffiest and most run down we've been in. The food seemed to take a while compared to others we've visited but as usual... It's cheap and cheerful! The breakfast was nice. But it's off putting when every single piece of cutlery comes out and is dirty. Even the spoon for our drinks!

Nice pub to go for a catch up with friends. Sometimes a bit cold. Service not always great behind the bar but it is cheap

Gold Cape.. I have been to many J D Wetherspoon pubs these last 20 years and Mold is my nearest. During recent years operational standards appear to be falling whilst other JDWs in my Area seem to be upping their game. 1.The Premises & F+F need a face lift ! 2. WHY - does it take over a week to... More

My wife and I visited Mold today and decided to visit The Gold Cape for a snack and coffee. The Gold Cape is easy to find, right in the middle of the town - very spacious with varied seating arrangements - it also has a rear 'Smoking Area' which is quiet and relaxing. I asked why the prices where much... More
