Seriously, seriously good chicken! The joint looks rough around the edges, and that's because it is! It's nitty, gritty, down home goodness. I've been craving it since I got home. Seriously delicious, perfectly spiced chicken! Oh, and the fried tomatoes are pretty damn good too!

Don't judge this place from the outside or the inside.... The best fry chicken I ever had... The pecan pie was very good with a scope of ice cream.

Fried chicken is good, but that's pretty much the only thing they have, so don't go here unless you're eating fried chicken. The main thing we didn't like was that one of the kitchen staff would lock himself in the single tiny restroom to take personal phone calls.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Had 3 piece white combo. Restaurant was busy but got served quickly. The chicken was good & met expectations although one of the chicken breasts was a bot skimpy. Cole slaw was bland with a watery mayo. Needs some seasoning.

We were advised to have lunch in this out of the way place - and it did not disappoint! The chicken was crispy and spicy on the outside and tender and sooooo juicy on the inside! Sounds like a cliche, but true! Have the chicken breast. Also, the fried green tomatoes were really good! What lacked in ambiance, was made... More

When people are waiting outside to be seated, it's usually a good sign for the food. So good, we ate there twice!

The plate was about 8 bucks a person, and it's pretty awesome!! The chicken is so good and you have to try the pecan pie. Best I've ever tasted :)

There was a 30min waiting, but totally worth it! Food was delicious, super tasty fried chicken with cole slaw and beans. For appetizer, the fried pickles were yummy! And to finish the awsome meal, chocolate chess pie. All that for $36 for two people. A must go in Memphis.

We were told about this spot and thought we'd try it. So glad we did. There's a wait for a table - ours was 10 minutes. The chicken is fresh not frozen. We each had a two piece white -chicken breast quarter and a separate wing with baked beans and cole slaw. It's spicy breading but not overbearing. The service... More

Description
At Gus's we're all about the food! Gus's restaurants are low-key with a southern flare where you will hear soulful classics emitting from the jukebox. Many people call Gus's a "blues-infused southern eatery." At Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken we focus on the chicken! We begin by using quality chicken which is treated to our special preparation techniques before being marinated in our proprietary batter. Once it's properly fried to a crisp golden-brown, we serve it up with a plate full of southern inspired sides and a cold beer or sweet tea. The result? Customers line up at our door before we're even open!
