I have been visiting Musicker for a few years and would say that it is excellent. I appreciate the ambiance of the Music of all kinds - from classic to world music - and the locals of literally all age groups that frequent the cafe. I need non-animal options, so their selection is a huge boon for me particularly with... More

After completing a walk around the Rothesay area I came across this wonderful café for a well earned coffee and sandwich. The food was excellent and the coffee was great ( i'm a bit fussy about my coffee and this tasted really good). When I entered the café I was greeted very warmly, told what the soup of the day... I have enjoyed the same meal for many years here: a toastie with brie and veg on salad with cucumber and olives. [About 3 times a week for about 10 years] With coffee, often two, it costs about £8.95. I usually could just stand the noise, for it is not music to me. No matter, I liked this dish. Sometimes it... More

Faultless vegetarian cafe, great food, amazing staff, lovely atmosphere, good value. I always feel special and 'cared for' when I visit. What more can you ask for?

We were recommended to visit by our BnB owners, who were spot on! We had panninis and soup, and great cake. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the little extras like some crisps to nibble on while waiting for our food and tap water provided without asking made an average lunch a bit more special. The place sells musical... More

Stopped in this cafe after visiting the castle. We had a coffee each which were both nice. The food looked good so had we been in Rothesay longer we probably would have returned for lunch. My partner particularly liked the jukebox which added to the atmosphere of the place.

Stepped into Musicker Cafe near the Castle for a Saturday lunchtime coffee & sandwich. We weren't disappointed. Serving staff were five star. Coffee was excellent. Toasted sandwiches were delicious. Music suited the atmosphere. No surprise that the café was packed.

Popped in as nothing else to do in Rothsey in Late October. Great Welcome and service by staff, Food tasty and reasonable value. May be too busy in peak season, a little cramped seating.

Superb idiosyncratic cafe. Veggie menu. Great soup, cakes and coffee. Also a music shop with jukebox and guitars for sale.

John and his busy always cheerful crew provide a super varied menu with wonderful unusual soups and filling snacks in the centre of Rothesay. With a cracking view of the castle this busy but ambient business also surprises with good background music, sometimes live, free wi fi and a good variety of books and guitar strings. Sadly not open Sundays... More

Description
Musicker is a cafe/music retailer/bookshop set up in 2002 by Sue & John Dennis, to serve good coffee for the palate and good music for the ear. In the cafe we also stock music tablature, music CD's Canongate books and, of course, coffee, italian cakes and wonderful toasted paninis. We now make delicious and original soups and sandwiches, too.
