Popped in today for lunch. The gentleman who we presumed to be the owner was in the kitchen area frying eggs when we arrived. We presume he was cooking for himself as there were no other customers in there. He didn't seem particularly happy at being disturbed and was rather rude. At this point we are now both wishing we... My husband and I stopped here for lunch Both had prawn baguettes and coffee. We were the only people in the café. The coffee was good and the baguettes perfectly adequate, plenty of prawns and side salad. Value for money.

Extremely slow service. Drinks didn't arrive until half way through the meal( we asked repeatedly for them) lentil soup was runny and a horrible after taste. The fish did not taste right and when I complained the "Chef" came out and said 'What's wrong with the fish' no apology was given when I told him that the fish had a... More

When we went in they were quiet so we did not expect a long wait for two fish teas. It makes one suspect that the fresh local fish has to be defrosted. The fish itself was fresh tasting but the batter was a bit oily. The dish came with a small crisp salad portion. The bread however was buttered and... More

Disinterested service. Richard enjoyed the all-day breakfast but other snacks were dried out as though re-heated.

We were a party of three and we went in for lunch. A few of the tables were occupied and we chose a seat at the window next to a sign advising us that all food is cooked fresh to order and that a short wait would be required. When it came the food was hot and tasty and we... More

Used to love the atmosphere here and was delighted to be able to return recently. Wish I had not bothered as there is no ambience to the place any more.

The cafes in Rothesay were busy, and we were pleasantly surprised that there were a few empty tables in this cafe. The tables were empty, not emptied, and I thought it must have been because a lot of people maybe just had left. The waitress originally wanted us to sit at a table in the corner (which was emptied), but... More

We went in because we saw chalked beside the front door a good deal for a fish dinner, with local sourced haddock, and bread and tea included. I feel deceptively snared for £1.50 and angry. Asked if the tea options included speciality teas he apparently said it did. So I chose Earl Grey. Then when we were billpaying at the... More
