Travelling around the North in January we were lucky to find one of the few places still open. Bridge Cottage is a warm friendly spot, we stopped for Lunch and were delighted to find that Vegan and Vegetarians were catered for always reassuring when people know what the terms are. We had delicious home made soup and really fine coffee... More

We have recently come back from a fantastic blustery week staying in Poolewe. Not much open in January, but thank goodness, the Bridge Cottage Cafe was! Absolutely lovely Spanish couple who apparently only took over the cafe at the start of December 2016, I can't believe we didn't get their names, as we were in there nearly every day! All... More

Yes, as people have already noted, the Bridge Cafe has reopened under new ownership. Thank goodness they have - it's a great place to eat if you want to avoid the cafe at the gardens - and thank goodness they've maintained and even exceeded the previous owners' standards. It's still a lovely little place to enter - a very warm... More

Cafe has just been taken over by a lovely friendly couple from Spain, the home baking is absolutely delicious with old favourites and with the addition of Spanish baking. We would recommend this cafe if in the area and the prices are very good.

Yep, really does deserves a 5 star rating. Warm (solid fuel fire), cosy (cold day), local produce used and excellent. I can well recommend it.

We were going to eat at a local hotel but found it shut so by chance wandered into this cafe instead, what a find. The friendly owners had recently taken it over but have decided to source as much as they could by the way of local food and had the likes of really nice organic coffee plus soya milk.... More

We have visited this lovely peaceful and friendly cafe on previous visits to the area and have always been amazed at the utterly fantastic cake. We know it was sold by the previous owners so assumed it was gone forever. Oh no it isn't! Today we conducted a rather sharpish U turn when we saw the familiar OPEN sign outside... More

We called in here on a Sunday in september and they were very busy. So much so that we were offered seats upstairs in the gift shop. Our initial order was brought up to us after about 15 mins but we were not in any hurry. we had also asked for a scone after the sandwiches but this failed to... More

We had lunch here when we were visiting the area. Lovely friendly staff. The cafe was very clean and had a little gift shop upstairs. The food was amazing. Mostly sourced by local ingredients. Cakes are delicious. Sorry to hear that they are closing at the end of September. This little bit of heaven will be missed

Some fellow travellers on our NC500 trip recommended this place and it is well worth a visit. It is a cosy café that has fabulous food and cakes. We stopped here on a rainy lunchtime and it was very busy. However, service was friendly and efficient and they were obviously juggling to get people in where possible. We had jacket... More
