Enjoyed a special 'on request' taster meal of 5 dishes between 3 of us. Prepared with our taste in mind. Not too hot but lots of flavour. Food and hospitality could not be bettered, fully deserving of its award as the best curry house in Scotland.
The best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten it. I have visited many, world wide.. The quality of food and service at The Taj Mahal, Biggar, will not be beaten......
I'm a fan of the Taj and have been enjoying the food and service for a couple of years since moving to the area, noticing is too much trouble. I was fending for myself one Saturday and decided to avoid the perils of cooking and went to the Taj for dinner. I decided to try and couple of different things... More
Excellent welcome, all the staff very warm and friendly. Staff curry excellent as were the other main dishes. Our waiter was extremely helpful re quantities of starters to order, portions worked out well. We opted to have only water with our meal with no pressure to have something stronger. Good sign they weren't trying to push up the bill. Would... More

Lovely welcome into this great wee Indian restaurant. Nicely arranged in a small premises, but where some places would ram as many tables in as possible, here they have arranged them with consideration for people being able to move around! The welcome and chat from the owner\manager\whoever he was, was very friendly and interesting. Now onto the food ... Wow.... More

Is it advisable to book? The only issue with that is that I am travelling to Rosslyn Chapel on Saturday and really have no idea what time at and what time we may get back to Biggar so it would be better if we could just turn up at the restaurant. But, if it meant not being able to taste the delights of the Taj Mahal then we'd work round a booking
