My friend and I visited 1869 a couple of weeks ago, one evening, during a visit to the Isle of Arran. I can safely say I think this is possibly the best restaurant on the island. Definitely not cheap, but not too expensive either. The tapas format works well as one gets to taste a variety of foods, which you... More

Had a wonderful Scottish tapas meal, had never had a tapas meal before & the staff were brilliant in helping us choose a variety of dishes to try. The cranacan for desert was superb.

We have visited this place many times but this time round we found a shortened menu. It was a bit of a shame as some of our favourites have gone, although we were happy to see the demise of the buckfast contribution, yuk! Plenty of good ones remain but to get 5 stars I feel they could add a few... More

Food and setting and service were second to none. The duck and the venison dishes were something quite special. Highly recommended!

We visited here for our anniversary dinner after a trip a few years ago. I cannot recommend the food here enough. The menu recommends three to four plates each. I had three and we shared the goose fat chips but it was too much. You could get by with two but it depends on your appetite! I had the cheese... More

Very tasty meal here. Tapas style but with heavy Scottish influences and all very local produce. The sweet, sticky chicken with kale and garlic nuggets was AMAZING! Could eat it again right now. It is tapas style so order 2-3 dishes each and share (or don't!). Small plates, quick service and very tasty. My partner's dairy allergy was catered for... More

I have been visiting Arran for over 20 years and we had dinner for 6 on Easter Saturday the 15th of April. This was the best dinner I have experienced on Arran after 20 years of visiting. The food and service was excellent and was in my opinion faultless.

We opted for a late dinner after a long day of walking and we were not disappointed. The lounge is nice to relax before dinner and have a peek at the menu which recommends 2 - 3 dishes per person. We were hungry and feeling indecisive so we ordered 7 between 2 which was a bit too much food but... More

My partner, sister, her partner and I went for cocktails at eighteen69 - would definitely recommend the Board 1 sharing platter including the Cranachan Martini, Auchrannie Fling and Lochranza Lemonade.

Six of us visited us this lovely restaurant (part of the Auchrannie Hotel) and walked there and back up GlenCloy from our holiday let. The tapas arrived in a timely manner and were shared by us. The tastes were subtle and flavourful and beautifully presented. We all loved the variety. We chose atleast 12 different dishes meat, veggie and fish... More
