My wife and I are staying at this establishment and had a beer in the bar when we decided to have some lunch. As neither of us were extremely hungry we opted for the light bites menu. From which we both chose the Homemade cod fish fingers sandwiches. OMG they were huge. The fish itself stunning and the homemade tarter... More

Came here as a group of 5 over Easter weekend, and we weren't holding out much hope. But, we were greeted by a friendly staff member who got us seated straight away. Great selection of drinks at the bar and varied food menu. The food came out quickly and well presented. Great tasting and generous portions. Highly recommended!

We went in and the bar tender was overly great really chatty and nice. We really enjoyed the banter. We had Sunday lunch was very, very, very good. BUT my girlfriend found a hair in her lunch which put us both off😞

We had been going to pre book & stay two nights. We did neither & opted to find somewhere else the next night. Dinner was well served, in good time. Well presented but nothing special (Chili Con Carne). Breakfast was nicer. Full English. Friendly staff, but hotel is a bit tired & the owner grumpy. Many other places to choose... More

Menu looked appetising so thought we'd have an evening meal. Not just the regulr pub menu but some other dishes not normally seen as well as specials. But the portions are quite large. My ham hock terrine starter was enough for a main meal and my wifes Slow cooked Ham Hock was enormous. More than enough for 2.

Dropped in for a late lunch, mainly because it was one of the few places serving food at that time of day. Pleasantly surprised by both the quality and quantity of the dishes. Starters of whitebait, soup and terrine were all generous and very tasty. Mains of chilli, pie of the day and the faggots were again delicious and enormous.... More

Excellent meal with friends last week. Good choice of menu, had the pick n mix faggots which are correctly priced at £10 as wholesome and plentiful, strongly recommend the fruit crumble and custard. Excellent ambience and choice of draught real ale and cider and spirits. Parking directly outside hotel limited although plenty nearby. Would definitely come back again.
