Having been in here before and found the service erratic, it was not much different on Sunday afternoon. Drinks not good value for the size, particularly the regular latte at £2.30, as the menu is only on the wall, it's not easy to see from all parts of the cafe and no-one pointed out that the large size, which would... Living near Bournemouth I am lucky to be surrounded by many great places to eat in Parkstone and Westbourne, however I often make the trip to Wareham to go to The Salt Pig. They have their own butcher and even have their own pigs living on the RSPB site at Arne....you can clearly see on a large blackboard where their... More

The mark of a good restaurant is not necessarily its size, but the quality of its food and the generosity of its staff. Along that line, some of the finest dining experiences I've had throughout my career have been in the small diners and dives scattered throughout the area of Dorset.Regrettably, The Salt Pig is not among these gems.I had... Found this via a Wareham guide, and really glad we made a special trip. It has a lovely cosy feel - but get there early as it is very popular. Had a sublime raised meat pie with sweet potato wedges and red cabbage - pie succulent and tender, with a lovely pastry. The other main, a quiche was a generous... More

Good bits It's a great place for coffee, cake and a bite to eat and I have never been disappointed with what has been provided . Bad bit It's a good thing for Wareham but I do feel that it has out grown its current location. Also it feels like the staff are always tripping up over themselves but this... More

We live in Derbyshire, and visit Dorset for holidays. We have been coming to the Salt Pig since it opened. We love the fact that we can still get a coffee up to 7pm all year round, and then take out the splendid food for our evening meal. The breakfasts are fantastic. The quiches are amazing. It is not unknown... More

The entrance is a bit tricky to navigate and probably not for the infirm. Once inside however the ambience is cosy and charming. The bacon sandwiches are reaĺy tasty whilst also being quite expensive. The decaf coffee is particularly good and the staff are attentive and very sociable.

We called in here for late morning refreshments in early December 2016. There are not that many tables but we squeezed in on a table for two. Service: The service was good and friendly but you got the idea that some servers were a little stressed. Food: When we asked for a menu we were told that lunch wasn’t quite... More

We squeezed in to a table in the front room, not much space here! Home made quiche, soup & salad all made for a lovely lunch.

The Salt Pig is amazing!! The breakfasts are soo good. Made from local produce and just the right size. I love the Salt Pig, their food is amazing and the menu is always changing. I cannot recommend this place enough, they stop serving breakfast at 11am and it does get busy- because everyone knows how good it is. Great place... More
