We had a midweek supper here and it was delicious. The seating is family-style so you're a shared tables sitting on benches. My pizza with caramelised onion and pulled beef was rich but so delicious with a light crispy sourdough base. The staff were really...More

Ate in August on a busy tuck in Tuesday. The food took about an hour to arrive, but we were pre-warned by the staff. The Tuesday deal is 1/2 cider or small wine, salad & pizza. (1 of 5) for £10. Salad was mixed leaves,...More

Friendly service, fab gluten-free pizzas. Can get very busy and warm thanks to the pizza ovens, but it's always a pleasure to go to the Stables. Lovely selection of drinks too. The cider tasting board is always fun!

I am totally against the grain here, but just don't get what all the fuss is about. The ordering system is bonkers, and also means that the staff miss out on well deserved tips- the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. I was told...More

Lovely pizza although a little on the pricey side. Lots of different varieties and spiciness available. Staff are friendly and polite. Setting is good but upstairs can get really warm in the summer so sitting downstairs might be a better option.

If you like pizza you'll love this place. Thin, crispy base how pizza should be. Pizzas get 5 stars but the ordering system doesn't. Took ages to order standing in queue at the bar whilst waiters stood around waiting for food to be ready to...More

Just waited 50 minutes for our dessert with our 6 year old daughter. Gave up in the end. Left with a very upset little girl. Ñot good spoiled the whole evening. This was a pre booked reservation.

Lovely evening spent in the Stable eating pizza on heavy wooden tables and benches. Quick, friendly service and delightful pizza. You probably need to book as it gets very busy and we went in the week. At weekends it would be vital.

Description
This is where it all began! Our first Stable restaurant, located at the back of The Bull Hotel in deepest Dorset. The story began in 2006 when Richard and Nikki took on the mammoth challenge of transforming a former 16th century coaching inn into a thriving boutique hotel. During The Hotel's revival they discovered the beautiful old stable block, which looked so far beyond repair they left it vacant for years. When Richard's brother Andy returned from his travels they came up with the idea to turn the space into a cider house, serving gourmet Dorset pizzas unlike anything else. In 2009, after a whole lot of hard graft, The Stable was born. It was a huge success and remains incredibly popular amongst locals and holidaymakers.
