We will NOT be recommending this pub for food We ordered 2 cheese and bacon burgers with chips? Well for starters it was fries not chips and the ones that werent still hard and frozen were thick grease and the burger? I took one bite and grease poured out down my top which I have now had to soak, it... More

It's a little difficult to respond to this complaint seeing as we've never had one about our takeaway food; but here goes. We don't use frozen fries/chips. We use potatoes which are cut and fried; in oil; which is greasy unfortunately. A bacon cheese burger has a very high fat content, so unsurprising that this coupled with 20 minutes or... More

We came to Modbury for two nights B and B and because the weather (rain of course) prevented walking down into town, stopped off at the Modbury Inn for a light supper. We were made to feel welcome by the landlady and we explained that all we needed was a light meal. Delicious ham sandwiches were provided - fresh chunky... More

I must admit I don't go up to the modbury inn very often, but I did go to there May bank holiday quiz Sunday night and what a great night we had, they did a meal deal where you had food a drink and entry to the quiz all for 8.95, we didn't do to bad in the quiz put... More

Surprised this listing is under Kingsbridge where all the other Modbury pubs and eating place are. This pub is a couple of hundred metres up the hill from the Main Street. Parking is hit and miss because of the people who live on both sides of this attractive period characterful road. The beer is a fair selection reasonably kept. The... More

I came here with friends for an evening meal, we found a warm welcome and a delightful village pub. Unfortunately the food just let this lovely place down. It appeared to be short order food heated up rather than having a chef prepare or serve with any degree of presentation. The pie was a stew with a lid added, the... More

My son and I needed dinner after a long day, this is close to where we had been staying (modbury caravan club site) greeted by friendly member of staff and the food was good. Much better than more expensive places near by. Two drinks £7, as elsewhere nearly £9, very clean and would recommend.it was quiet as we turned up... More

Haven’t stayed or eaten here, but the pub is worth a visit. Not a music or sports venue, but is everything a Wetherspoons isn’t – quiet, intimate place for a drink. Familiar and welcoming atmosphere – the pub you want to frequent to get reacquainted with friends and family. Popular with locals, it is on Brownston St., about 150 metres... More
