Fantastic place to visit by canoe, beautiful estuary Great place for a drink but does not serve easy snack food. You have to book for a meal.

Paddled over in a small rowing boat from Starcross with my wife for a meal. Scallops were amazing and so was the curried monkfish. We returned for drinks several times throughout the summer and definitely will be again next summer.

Visited for my cousins 30th birthday some months ago and really enjoyed it. We got the rover taxi over from Exmouth and once we’d finished our food got the river taxi back. I had my 3 month old daughter with me at the time but...More

The whole experience was amazing. From the boat trip over, to the curry fish platter. A night to remember for sure.

Fun experience overall, for our group the food quality didn't link up with the bill; but it is to be expected as you are paying for the location, after all it is in the middle of River Exe. Not easy to do! Could be smashing,...More

Hi, You can certainly take the buggy on the Taxi but were ask if it can be collapsed for the journey due to space. Please let us know if we can help further.

Hi, Sorry I have only just seen this. We stayed at Lympstone Manor which was lovely although quite pricey. I hope you found somewhere suitable.

There's a children's Menu and if you don't chose the most expensive items it could be reasonable ranging from 15-25 pound for main meals for adults. There are also some sharing platters available as well

The River Exe Cafe is a floating barge just off the Ski lane on the River Exe, and is in the heart of Exmouth’s water sports fraternity, wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking, sailing to name just a few, however it is also situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, protected by Natural England. Open from April to September only . The Exe Estuary is home to many rare birds and creatures including Avocets, Osprey and of course our friendly grey seal. With the potential to take up to 100 people on board the Cafe has been designed very much like the “Ski in Ski out” wooden chalets found on the ski slopes of many ski resorts, but with the intention that the quality of food and service exceeds all expectations of the external look and feel. The barge has a licensed bar and covered outdoor space with heaters and indoor seating to relax well into the evening without suffering the cold. Customers to the barge really are of all ages and walks of life, ranging from the usual river users and water sports enthusiasts to bird watchers, artists and holiday makers. Special events such as birthday parties, anniversaries, stag & hen parties to corporate & team building days can be arranged. Private and exclusive use of the barge is also available.
