For our first trip to the field kitchen we struck gold with a table full of friendly folk intent on sharing a couple of hours of fine food and chat - the seemingly never ending platters of home grown produce elevated vegetables to a whole...More

Glad my friends suggested a taxi because I’m not sure I would have found the place otherwise! Saying that, the sunny, rural setting did feel beautifully uplifting and unique. We didn’t know we’d have to share a table and the food with people we didn’t...More

Many thanks for your review, we are glad you enjoyed your Riverford experience with us and had a lot of fun with the other guests on your table. A taxi is always a good idea so you can sample the organic wine!

I and 17 friends all had lunch here on a very wet and windy day. We were all sat by the required time along with everyone else , it was full. Drinks were served at the table and then after a short break everyone was...More

Many thanks for your kind review Clare. We are glad we gave you a retreat out of the wind and rain and you enjoyed all the food - and puddings of course! We hope to see you and your elasticated waistband again soon!

Went with friends for dinner. The experience is different because it is a fixed menu with mostly vegetable dishes. You sit at long tables, so if it is busy, you might share. Although the menu is fixed, they say they cater for intolerances. Service was...More

My first visit and went with an open mind to something new. Nice environment and location, and with a group of nine we had our own table. Friday night is ‘fish night’ and not my ideal choice, so somewhat anxious as to finding something I...More

Many thanks for your review Michael. Being set on a veg farm, veg is what we do and is always the star of the plate. Even on a meat day, there are plentiful of veg dishes and just one meat dish. It's a shame you...More

My third visit and it didn’t disappoint. My favourite part of Riverford ? That’s a tough choice. Is the the amazing, fresh tasty food? Or the mish mash of plates etc ( on this occasion a fellow diner was checking all our dinner plates to...More

Having had to cut short our holiday in Cornwall due to a fall we decided to soften the blow by a visit to Riverford on our way home. The food was excellent, flavoursome and plentiful. My dairy and wheat intolerance was superbly catered for.

I think you’d be fine if you are reasonably outgoing. The vibe is friendly and the way the food is served encourages chat. And if you don’t get on with your fellow table mates, at least the food will be wonderful. Enjoy
