We booked a table on our second night on Jersey. Our meal was superb - nothing too adventurous but what taste!! Service was very attentive from start to finish - we were delighted so much so we came back 3 nights later! On this occasion...the restaurant was packed, atmosphere was great and again the food was second to none. Before leaving the owner came to our table asking how we had enjoyed our meal - a lovely touch. He is carrying on where his father left off - keep up the good work. Only wish we had this Indian at home!!More
We stumbled across the Noya Shapla and we are so glad we did!!! Really delicious food, clearly made to order, that was beautifully presented. They had gone the extra mile with extra details that are sadly often missed in Indian restaurants. All the food was...fabulous!
There were plenty of very attentive staff that were polite and friendly.
We are already planning a second visit!
We even were treated to a firework display across the harbour afterwards!!More
We had friends over from UK and wanted a curry, so i told them about Noya Shapla...
On arrival to restaurant, we were welcomed by Joe and taken to our table..
There was no rush to take our order as this restaurant has the laid...back approach where they do not want to rush you in and out of the place.
Once the order was taken, we had time to have a drink and chat before starters arrived....fantastic and not too much which would spoil your main course.
My friend (the holidaymaker) was unsure on what to have and asked the waiter for recommendations and advice on how spicy certain dishes were, and went for one of them..
Mains...yet again top drawer food..
Magnificent flavours and aromas from the dishes...
The evening was slightly ruined by the taxi turning up too early for us to leave earlier than we wanted and cutting short the amazing experience we had at Noya Shapla..
Top Marks to Joe and Team
See you again
Visited Noya Shapla for first time tonight whilst on holiday in Jersey. Lovely restaurant and staff that greeted us were friendly and welcoming. Ordered three meals and the food was excellent. Waitress who had served us brought the bill which came to £81 and I...put £100 cash on the dish. While we finished our drinks another waiter picked up the cash and walked off without saying anything. We waited, and waited, and waited for the change. The waiter who took the money walked past our table at least five times without so much as eye contact. Eventually after at least 15 minutes I asked him if he was bringing it and he then did so without comment.
Now until this point we had enjoyed a superb meal in a very nice restaurant and would have naturally left an appropriate tip. However this left a sour taste and we would probably not return and what would have been a 5 star review is only 3 star because of this dodgy waiter.More
We visited on the first night of our recent stay on the island. After trying to find somewhere to eat we stumbled upon this restaurant however were not disappointed. The food was tasty and flavoursome, location great and service was good, although slightly slow. We...would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.More
Had been meaning to try this restaurant for ages but had been put off by having many a poor and expensive indian meal in London. This however was completely different. Flavours were fresh, meat was not smothered in sauce and the portions were huge. Service...was exceptional and the prices very reasonable. All in all an excellent evening.More
Was really looking forward to spending a nice evening here..
Nicely placed restaurant right by St Aubin Bay.. parking was a nightmare (but we did attend on a Friday evening) had to park 1mile up the road..Decor is excellent inside..
Extensive menu with new and...excellent choices I've never heard or seen..Taste was excellent and I never had an Indian where they take so much time in the look and presentation of the meal..its a one off!
Now, downsides..It was Very Hot in there. Dont know if they had Aircon or not but it should of been put on. Its only a small place so it not only gets hot, but also very loud with everyone talking above each other! Service was far to quick for our liking too..Had the usual poppadoms whist looking at menu to choose, only when we did waiter went to take poppadoms as if we had finished! We hadn't.. also got drinks wrong when said 4 times what we wanted. Starters arrived whilst still eating poppadoms (we only ordered 3!) And again went to take them..partner finished her starter, I was still eating mine and waiter took my plate as I was on last mouth full..main arrived literally 3 mins later so didn't have time to let started go down!
Its also very expensive, especially the drinks! (they charge by the can £2.85 for a splash of lemonade/7up) and pint of cobra in near on £7..
IF service was slower so we could relax and enjoy the meal and Aircon was put on and it was a little quieter and if they got drinks right and priced better, I would of given 5 stars..
Would we return? Only if service got slower so we could relax..
I did mention it to the staff to say we hadn't finished but they still came round to ask..we just felt rushed..shame..More
I’ve been lucky enough to experience some great Indian restaurants in London and this place is up there if not better. It’s exceptional value for money, the dishes are fresh and tasty. and the staff are amazing.
