Whilst we were warned that it would take longer for delivery than collection, we went for delivery because of the current situation with Covid-19. Unfortunately the man who took our order missed out the first digit of our phone number so this delayed our food by half an hour by which time it was rather cold. Whilst he was apologetic we had to reheat the food before eating it.
The food itself was nice however the butter chicken didn't have much chicken in it and both the passanda and the butter chicken were overly sweet.
Overall my review seems rather harsh but it was, in fact, an enjoyable meal aside from a few disappointments.

Visited Noya Shapla for first time tonight whilst on holiday in Jersey. Lovely restaurant and staff that greeted us were friendly and welcoming. Ordered three meals and the food was excellent. Waitress who had served us brought the bill which came to £81 and I put £100 cash on the dish. While we finished our drinks another waiter picked up the cash and walked off without saying anything. We waited, and waited, and waited for the change. The waiter who took the money walked past our table at least five times without so much as eye contact. Eventually after at least 15 minutes I asked him if he was bringing it and he then did so without comment.
Now until this point we had enjoyed a superb meal in a very nice restaurant and would have naturally left an appropriate tip. However this left a sour taste and we would probably not return and what would have been a 5 star review is only 3 star because of this dodgy waiter.

Right on the harbour front, I was worried that prices would be extortionate, in line with other restaurants we had visited in Jersey. Prices were very reasonable, wine slightly expensive.
The restaurant is very well presented and beautiful inside. Staff were excellent. We had chicken pakora and paneer cheese for starters, both beautifully presented and very tasty. For mains we had the Noya special, keema rice and garlic naan. All were delicious, again very well presented and big enough portions. We actually couldn’t eat it all!
Excellent restaurant and would thoroughly recommend!

Booked a table as first time visitor to Jersey, and choose this restaurant by reviews, sadly very dissapointed. Food portions small and swimming in grease., and just warm enough to eat. We ordered a main meal each with portion of rice and Pashwari nan. We normally share a rice and nan. However in this instance the rice consisted of 4 table spoonful, the nan consisted of 4 small triangles, and was the worst Pashwari nan ever,! Yes it did taste sweet, but no sign of almonds or fruit even when opening it up. Bill arrived and was not for our table (table number 9 ) given bill for table number 12... Almost had to argue we had wrong bill before they accepted it was in fact wrong. When correct bill did arrived, within seconds the waiter was at the table with the card machine, talk about rushed to get out. We paid, and then a different waiter arrived to ask if we wanted tea or coffee.... never got a chance to order anything else! Worst Indian meal we have experienced, and think they fuss over large groups of diners and locals. Very very over rated just because they are in a prime location in St Aubins, look elsewhere for a nice dining experience.

Had a table for two booked at 8pm on a Friday night, we were asked to wait whilst the previous diners paid up, they were a party of four. We were happy to wait a little while, however the owner somewhat rudely told the table of four they needed to leave as they wanted to split the table into two. Fortunately they were very polite customers, I'm not sure I would have reacted quite so well.
The restaurant was loud and chaotic, with waiters running around, no social distancing evident, and our table was really close to another table of two. Even in normal times we don't like to be seated so closely to the next table.
There was a large table of young men outside, and wouldn't be surprised if they were under age..we ordered a pint of Cobra and a glass of wine, the Cobra didn't taste right - was it watered down??
We had starters and main course, all done and dusted within an hour, got the feeling they just wanted diners in and out in order to get the next ones in. The food was good, but the overall experience was so poor, we will never choose to dine here again, a shame really as it used to be so much better. Obviously profits mean more than customer service.

We were a family of 5 booked in for A meal while on holiday, we arrived just before our 8pm booking, didn’t have starters , just poppadoms, but didn’t get our food until at least an hour after we had ordered and that was after both I and my wife had asked what was happening. The staff had clearly forgotten about our order as the food came in 3 trolley deliveries spaced out over a few minutes. Head waiter said it was a ‘ communication issue’...... no free drinks or discount offered, if didn’t pay a service charge or a tip as it wasn’t deserved, food was ok bu nothing to get excited about. Have been coming to jersey for 20 years, first time there and won’t be going again!

Similar in theme to other ‘terrible’ reviews, we had a 8.30 booking (later than we’d wanted but fine, it’s Saturday) only to arrive and be told our table wasn’t available. Asked to stand on the street in the cold until after 15 minutes we made the point that we should at least be able to have a drink while we wait. 30 minutes after our booking time we approached the bar to enquire on our table. The young man, who was clearly flustered and operating out of his depth, decided to take his tough evening out on us, suggesting that having a free drink (no one had mentioned that it was free before) should be more than satisfactory. We couldn’t care less for the price of a beer, it’s gone 9 and we wanted to be seated and ordering our dinner. He then thought his announcement that he is in fact the owner was meant to be impressive - quite the contrary. We abandoned our booking, and the drink, but of course it was too late to dine elsewhere by that point.
I remember eating at the restaurant owned by his father, which was a good experience and well managed with nice customer service. The apple has fallen far from the tree. This is a small island and you can’t go about treating people like this and get away with it for long. St. Aubin has an abundance of good restaurants, avoid this one. And if you have a hankering for a curry, there are plenty of other options in Jersey that have better food, customer service and more amicable owners.

My wife and two friends booked a table
We like curries and know a good curry as livedin Yorkshire btw
Table booked for 7pm but asked to arrive for 6.45pm. Arrived at 6.50pm.
Offered wine without a wine list (hence no price). Food arrived and one dish was cold so we had to send back
Tikka masala very beet sweet
Lamb in curry was quite chewy
Owner/manager prowling up and down and trying to rush us constantly
He then approached the table at 8.15pm and asked us to take our drinks to the bar as our table was needed for 8pm?! So basically that allow 1 hrs and 15 minutes!
They could have stayed longer in a fast food restaurant

We did admittedly arrive 15 mins late for our booking, and our food was acceptable, however this did not make up for the rudeness of some staff. After our main course, staff avoided any attempts to attract their attention to get desert and another drink. They then presented us with a bill which included a bottle if wine we had not received.
Will not be returning..

Delicious food, piping hot, served quickly, friendly staff, reasonable price. I had cod bhuna - I fancied fish and lovely waiter Shaz suggested I have it in bhuna sauce (not on the menu). Very nice indeed. Only reason it did not make 5 stars was that on my first visit, I wasn't attended to having been sat for 15 mins. However, my food arrived v quickly once I had ordered and was worth the wait. I wasn't put off and went a second time during my stay. I was served quickly (but waited ages for my bill, having asked 3 waiters for it!) But the food was still great!!

Was really looking forward to spending a nice evening here..
Nicely placed restaurant right by St Aubin Bay.. parking was a nightmare (but we did attend on a Friday evening) had to park 1mile up the road..Decor is excellent inside..
Extensive menu with new and excellent choices I've never heard or seen..Taste was excellent and I never had an Indian where they take so much time in the look and presentation of the meal..its a one off!
Now, downsides..It was Very Hot in there. Dont know if they had Aircon or not but it should of been put on. Its only a small place so it not only gets hot, but also very loud with everyone talking above each other! Service was far to quick for our liking too..Had the usual poppadoms whist looking at menu to choose, only when we did waiter went to take poppadoms as if we had finished! We hadn't.. also got drinks wrong when said 4 times what we wanted. Starters arrived whilst still eating poppadoms (we only ordered 3!) And again went to take them..partner finished her starter, I was still eating mine and waiter took my plate as I was on last mouth full..main arrived literally 3 mins later so didn't have time to let started go down!
Its also very expensive, especially the drinks! (they charge by the can £2.85 for a splash of lemonade/7up) and pint of cobra in near on £7..
IF service was slower so we could relax and enjoy the meal and Aircon was put on and it was a little quieter and if they got drinks right and priced better, I would of given 5 stars..
Would we return? Only if service got slower so we could relax..
I did mention it to the staff to say we hadn't finished but they still came round to ask..we just felt rushed..shame..

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant last week. There were six of us in our party. As soon as we walked in the staff were very friendly and were very chatty with us. They offered to take our coats and then showed us to our table. Drink orders were taken straight away. Cobra on draught is the best. Food orders taken and the starters were with us within about 15 minutes. All very tasty! The staff were very helpful with helping us make our choices for the main course. The main courses were a little slow coming out but WOW they were well worth the wait, the tastiest Indian food I have ever had. It was amazing, full of flavor and spice. We had a lovely evening at the restaurant and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good authentic Indian food.

We were in St Aubin at the weekend to watch the England v All Blacks game at the Trafalgar Inn which is well renowned (justifiably) for sports and live music.
Whilst there is a good choice of restaurants in St Aubin we liked the menu choices at Noya Shapla and decided they would be our first choice venue post rugby, during the game I e mailed the restaurant to make a reservation for 7.30pm.
We duly arrived at 7.30 and the place was buzzing with people queuing for tables, as they could not find our booking they advised they could fit us in at 8.30, I found the acknowledgement on my phone and we were miraculously found a table at the back of the room.
The staff were very passionate and knowledgable about their food, we wanted a lamb dish and a king prawn dish with sides, we were guided by the head waiter and the food was fantastic.
The head waiter also found us a much better table before our food arrived which we were very happy with, my only criticism of Noya Shapla is because they are so popular they try and turn the tables to quickly.
Our bill with a decent bottle of Saint Veran came to £90 without service which is quite pricey but well worth it, we will return no question, booking essential.

This weekend we went for a beautiful walk from St Aubin to Corbiere around 16K.
We finished just in front of the restaurant and ordered a few tandoori items. We requested for tap water and was provided an open bottle of water. No one mentioned or warned us about the charges.
The meal was average. Tandoori chicken was dry. We felt a bit rushed as well.
To our surprise, we were charged for 3 bottles of water at £4.50 each. The owner corrected it to 2.
We would have appreciated it if we were made aware that cold tap water is £4.50 per bottle. It's expensive than draft beer.
An extra £9.00 paid for cold tap water which we were unaware of.

Absolutely amazing! We’ve visited Noya Shapla on several occasions, It is an extremely busy restaurant but it’s definitely worth it if you can get booked in. A busy restaurant speaks for itself.
We have had takeaways & deliveries - never any issues.
Joe & his team are fabulous & very friendly.
Would definitely recommend anyone to try it out, you won’t be disappointed.
