Thanks Bill for some Thanksgiving cheer! I've eaten at the Cafe a few times and always had a great experience. Best small town diner I've been to!

Attached to the hotel it also is where the hotel breakfast is served, which was good. We had dinner there and it was a quiet little place. We actually played a card game and ate there. When we were there, there was about 10 people. The prices were good and the portions were nice. We enjoyed the meal and the... More

We were looking for something fun to do to relieve some stress from our school work. We saw an advertisement for a Murder Mystery Dinner and that sounded like just the thing. My husband and i were able to dress up and play someone else for a change. Kathy, one of the hotel owners, kept us up to date on... More

I drove over on Sunday morning for the WW2 re-enactment and found it done so I elected to eat breakfast at the Commodore. (I had heard good things about it) I struggled to get my walker through the doors into the dining room where several people were dining. I sat at a table for more than 5 minutes and was... More

In the early 1940s my grandfather, Webb Duncan, ran the restaurant in the Commodore Hotel in Linden, Tennessee. Mother worked as a waitress. Last week, I called Kathy Dumont, the owner of the Hotel with her husband, Michael, to ask if the restaurant would be open Labor Day. I told her about mother, who is 92 years old, working there... The food was okay but nothing to drive out of your way to get. If you are traveling by and are hungry it will suffice. The service is poor. We had to ask four or five times to get our check.

Good country food! Great service. She ordered the sampler appetizer because she was not hungry. Ha! It was more food than I ordered so we both got to enjoy it. Topped off with Chess pie!!!!

Enjoyed the atmosphere, food and live music. I love coffee and they have some of the best. It is a place we are sure to visit again.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Commodore for a much-needed getaway. I was very pleasantly surprised by every aspect of the hotel. The rooms were tastefully decorated and immaculate. The staff were warm and inviting and made us feel at home from the moment we checked in. We were unfamiliar with the area and they were more than... More

My husband and I stayed at the hotel and had the dinner at the cafe for Valentine's weekend. The service was beyond deplorable and the food was no better. We ordered the prime rib and it arrived, not cool, not room temperature, but cold. We didn't send it back because it took over an hour to get it. The next... More

Description
Southern comfort food with a twist - served in this roadside WWII-era historic hotel. Quaint downtown square location offers a nice stroll to stretch your legs. Locally roasted coffee, Black Jack - homemade Pecan pie w splash of Jack Daniels, or Minnie Pearl's Chess Pie (plus a larger-than-life bronze statue of the Queen of Country Comedy!). House-made "Linden sauce" - smoky-sweet Buffalo-chipotle (since we're 1/3 mi from the Buffalo River) for our hand-patted burgers or hand-cut chicken strips. Speakeasy Bar & Lounge is only full bar within 50 miles. Friendly staff. Locally owned & operated by a Rhode Island couple who relocated to TN for its gorgeous land & natural wonders. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to get a tour of the haunted hotel, and hear a story or two about the underground tunnel to the old jail.
