We stayed at Wicklow Way Lodge B&B and the host, Marilyn, recommended this spot to us for lunch and we were so glad we decided to give it a try! My husband and I each ordered soup and a savory scone, the bowls of soup were huge and absolutely delicious! The scones were also amazing. We wished we were staying... More

Came across The Conservatory by mistake. Heading along the Military Road through the Wicklow mountains we decided to stop for a coffee, rather than the cycling dominated shop / cafe next door - It looked so much more inviting. It was like stepping back in time, restful, relaxed, delightful music combined with delicious home cooked food, served in generous portions.... More

I am not sure exactly how wide-ranging the menu is, but it was a very pleasant place to stop on a wet afternoon, for a surprise indulgence. Building building, has been tastefully re-vamped. Go on..treat yourself.

Very nice place to stop by and relax while exploring Wicklow. We got lovely soup and cream tea and it was very fresh and tasty and not expensive either. There is a very relaxing atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. We had to wait a while to get served but good food can't be rushed:-)

Do not go to the Conservatory if you are in a hurry as this is a place to chill out, enjoy the atmosphere and the wonderful home cooking. A small but delicious menu at very reasonable prices. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Staff chilled out but very friendly. Enjoy!

We went 45min out of our way for this lunch spot a friend recommended, and it was totally worth it. Food was just awesome, all homemade. My husband had the minestrone, and i had the goat cheese and spinach tart. Note that it's cash only though.

We stopped here by chance while visiting the area and boy were we lucky. This is one of those jems you occasionally come across when you least expect it. The atmosphere on a Saturday at lunchtime was excellent and the food was first class and made from scratch, not bought in. It appears to be a family run venture and... More

Went to the Conservatory for a cream tea but have to say the service was extremely slow. Sat for ages at a dirty table and eventually had to ask if we could be served. The staff were unorganised and could do with upping their communication skills - very sullen and laid back. Cups, plates, etc. being practically thrown down on... More

This is a very nice place to stop for a break on the way to Glendalough or on a drive through the Wicklow mountains. Very nice freshly made food, and the scones are delicious. There are also some nice bits and pices for sale in the shop.

A warm, friendly welcome and fantastic food to match. This is a rare find. Today was my second visit, and I am already planning my next drive through Sally Gap to get there. The soups are hearty, beautifully seasoned, and chock full of fresh vegetables and pulses, and served with a soft, moist savoury homemade scone. I relished every bite... More

The Conservatory is a hidden gem - a real find whilst we were exploring the Military Road south of Dublin, and well worth a visit, especially if you happen to be visiting Glendalough (one of Irelands most popular tourist destinations). The staff at The Conservatory are wonderfully friendly and hospitable, and the cafe/restaurant is so very quaint and gorgeous that was deservedly voted in The Bridgestone 100 best restaurants in Ireland 2010. It is an absolutely delightful and charming addition to the existing B&B.
