We have been to Ambledown on a number of occasions and it keeps getting better each time. We went last Saturday night and they had their new menu. Well what can I say the melted Camembert starter was absolutely amazing. We tried the new Ploughman’s...More

We don't normally respond to tripadvisor reviews but this one we have to as it is disgustingly untrue. A major disgruntle is that they booked for 12 and were explained to that it was a €20 per head set menu and that the deposit is...More

A hidden gem..so pretty and cute and hiding behind a pretty flower covered cottage facade.. you step in through a room full of bric-a-brac into an outside patio surrounded by gardens and peculiar selection of sheds Great service friendly staff..Wonderful

The service wasn’t great, we left a banner and balloons to decorate room for 40th birthday and they forgot to put them up. Pizza and nachos were lovely but the menu is limited.

Dined here recently and what a find. A little gem of the beaten track and one could easily miss the wee down hill road to the restaurant. As you approach the entrance gates to Castle Leslie it is just to the right to Ambledown Cottage....More
