...it's a gem! And definitely vegetarian-friendly. My husband and I visited the Bijou during our time at the Tennessee Fall Homecoming at the Museum of Appalachia. Our server was attentive and personable, the atmosphere really cozy and relaxing, and the food was great. I had the best mushroom bisque I've ever tasted and a veggie burger that puts to shame... Stumbled upon this unique place with my husband. The food was phenomenal and the service was just as good. I had the blackened chicken sandwich with the jalapeño pimento cheeses. WOW!!! Huge juicy perfectly seasoned and obviously delicious. We live over the mountain in North Carolina and I would drive the 2 1/2 hours again just to eat here again!!... More

I have never noticed this little bistro before but discovered it for the first time during a Knoxville Food Tour. The food was phenomenal and I love that that they source as much as they can locally. The food is made fresh & offers a seasonal menu to take advantage of the great taste of fresh produce. The staff was... More

When in town, it's always interesting to stop by and see what fresh vegetables have come in from the garden and are being served at the Bistro. Summer vegetables are the best. Our dinner was very tasty with squash, mushrooms, and tomatoes added to our dishes.

Many restaurants say their farm to table. This one is the real deal. Only 11 miles from the Knoxville airport and easy to find, this restaurant is a gem! We dropped in before our flight and will come back whenever we're in the area again. The food is fresh and well prepared. The selection is great for special diets like... More

Excellent dining experience, both in ambiance and quality of food. The menu is diverse with seasonal specials that change daily. If you are considering a downtown venue for lunch, go early as the restaurant fills quickly with local business personnel. It is located next to the historic Bijou Theater and is also crowded on evenings when the Bijou has performances.... More

My husband and I live and work in downtown Knoxville. So we go to a LOT of restaurants there. Bistro at the Bijou is our overall favorite. And our favorite meal there is brunch. The atmosphere is perfect on a weekend morning, laid back and relaxed. We like to go close to when they open -- at 10 a.m. --... More

This place is very interesting because seems like an older place and very quaint. The decor neat and our waiter was attentive. The food was so good! I had delicious shrimp and grits...nice size and filling. Other dishes in our party .. Chicken fried steak with tomato gravy and the burger on English muffin were so tasty too! Definitely go... Really bad food - I had a steak (fairly expensive) that was so tough I couldn't cut through it. It was also tasteless. The waitress didn't care.

Disappointed! Website pictures and menu looked good. The review was mix so we gave it a try. We are disappointed! People's reviews are pretty right, food is ok and service is bad. Our waitress was a sort of scatter brain? I asked water with a lemon and brought water without lemon. I asked again and she never did so my... More
