Friendly service can’t overcome the mediocrity of the food at Tupelo Honey. Breakfast is good, but lunch has been unsatisfying each time I’ve been there. The veggie sandwich is AWFUL! The biscuits were better when they first opened. I haven’t had a bad experience here,...More

This place has some great southern cooking. Weather it is Chicken and Waffles or a spin on an old classic, this place is amazing. It stays pretty busy and there may be a short wait but it is definitely worth it.

We make an annual trip to Knoxville and we always go to Tupelo Honey for breakfast. The grits are delicious and the portions are big. The pickled beets in my dish were amazing!

This place is on Market Square and enjoys a strong local following. Part of a group of 5 restaurants in southern cities, you do not get any feel of chain restaurant. The menu is interesting, with Southern takes on well known items. The gumbo was...More

This is a very nice restaurant with eclectic decor in a walking area of downtown Knoxville. There are other interesting shops and restaurants in the area as well. The food was very good, service was good and it was an enjoyable experience. The food can...More

It's crazy crowded and noisy at lunch time but the atmosphere is warm and friendly. You should definitely make reservations as this place is quite popular. My husband had the pimento and fried pickle burger. I had the slow-roasted pork grilled cheese. Both were quite...More

After 4 hour trafficky drive from Cincinnati, we all needed a respite from another hotel dinner or no dinner and I, on a whim, I googled Best local restaurants Knoxville. I chose Tupelo Honey Cafe because of the location (Market Square) and the menu -...More

Tupelo can be a bit loud/crowded for my preference. They have great food but expect to spend around $15 a plate if going for lunch. The biscuits & jam are to die for and I always eat way to many!!

Sometimes these take offs of Southern cuisine get it right and sometimes they just coast on old reputations. Fear the latter is true of this location. Collards were gritty (mama always rinsed the sand), Brussels sprouts overdone, grits lumpy under the shrimp and chicken gravy...More

Great southern cooking and drinks. Love the grits covered up in all sorts of southern goodness. Reminds me of something I'd get in Charleston.

Our Southern dishes & libations are served with a creative twist & a smile. When we play with our food (& we think it's okay), the result is scrumptious. We're rooted in the Mountain South, & our menu is inspired by time-honored traditions: pickling & frying, canning & preserving, & utilizing seasonal produce and ingredients to prepare delicious, scratch-made creations.
