Spankies is the place to be in Cookeville on Tuesday nights. They also have cheesy bread that's to die for.

This is a nice little space for a good lunch. I came here with my fiancée back in February and we really enjoyed our lunch here. You order at a counter, your food comes out at a nearby window, and you can sit anywhere you'd like. There is also complimentary cheese/mayo bread that's good for a taste, but really shouldn't... This is a great place for locals to go. Depending on what time of night, it could be a older crowd or turn into a college crowd. The menu gives a lot of variety and most all on the menu is good. If you are not on a diet, the bread is great!

Great local spot. Staff is friendly and food is terrific. Highly recommend! Have been here for dinner and also just to watch sports. Works great for both.

We ate here on the advise of the woman at DelMonaco Winery. Kind of a "Hole in the wall" place (in a good way). Very cool rustic barnwood interior! Lots of character! The food was very good and the prices were excellent! A little hard to find but definitely worth it!

Loved the fish and chips, the bread. We always have to stop in and pick up the spinach dip to take to out-of-town friends. Nice selection on the menu, great service and drinks.

Nice place to eat and have some drinks near the Univeristy. You can have dinner with family or just hangout and get appetizers. They have a covered outside patio. Sometimes they have live music

This place has been here since the King of France, Louis Phillipe spent his last night on the Upper-Cumberland. It is a great college dive for a sandwich and a brew. The quality rivals 95% of the Mom & Pop Burger dens you will find anywhere.... They have a fair selection of brew, I wish they had Calf-Killer?/!! The supper... More

Spankies has been around for a long, long, long time. For a while, before Cookeville had liquor-by-the-drink, it was THE place to go. The menu was fun, as was the decor, and it's just a block from the university. Now, the only thing updated is the menu, and even it arrives at your table stained with use. The atmosphere is... More
