We found The Boathouse on Trip Advisor before our trip to the area and decided we would give it a try. We’re glad we did. Our visit was on a Friday night and surprisingly we were seated within about 10 minutes (party of 4). Our server was very prompt, courteous, helpful with suggestions and right there when we needed him.... More

For the first time in Chattanooga, we were looking for a place that served baked oysters and every review kept brining up this place. We decided it had to be good and we were correct. The food was great, the ambiance was wonderful, the staff was wonderful. I will go back next time I'm in that area.

Stopped by on a Monday for an early dinner. We ordered a 1/2 dozen salt water and 1/2 dozen fresh water oysters which were on Monday Special. Additionally, we had the fried catfish platter and the BBQ smoked brisket French dip. The oysters were spectacular! The entrees were also very good, although the sandwich was just a tad salty and... Amazing! First off.... our waiter Rafa or Rapha not sure - was just great! Was on top of everything and making sure we were well treated. The food was fantastic. This was our first time there and if we pass by this town again, I'd be willing to eat here again. The restaurant is lovely. The outside area has a... More

The setting is wonderful. Fantastic views of the river. That's the only positive I can mention. First, despite what people had told me to expect (several locals told me independently of one another to expect mediocrity), I made the call to give it a try. Bad idea. They won't let you call ahead and they won't give you an approximate... More

After I had these for the third time, I asked the manager how they were made. She told me that they use the fresh clams that they also serve steamed and for made-to-order clam chowder. They are so tender you will never want the usual version which is pre-breaded and frozen. Their made-to-order oyster stew is also as good as... More

I've enjoyed this restaurant on numerous occasions! Best Place in Chattanooga to enjoy fresh oysters. The views of the TN River are fantastic! The bar atmosphere was neat with the crushed ice falling from the ceiling to the bar ice well! I will never give 5 stars for service, but it got close to it!

If you want a casual spot on the river with a great raw bar, unbelievably priced Chesapeake Oysters, Cold Beer, good service, and really good food, this is the spot to go. we arrived around 5PM before the rush and chose to sit inside but still with a river view. We discovered Monday was Oyster night with all Oysters being... More

Fall foliage while dining outside on the patio watching the beautiful river on a absolutely fabulous Tennessee atmosphere. A truly unique ahaa moment. The Cajun food was delicious almost a step away from New Orleans. The service was excellent with the owner following up to ask if he could get us anything else and how was everything? Yes I will...
