We ordered takeout and it may have been a better experience if we dined on site. Ordered the catfish dinner (whole dinner with 4 pieces of fish) with loaded baked potato, salad and pecan pie. The catfish was OK although a bit thin so by the time we began to eat it was kinda greasy. The salad was tiny yet... More

This place used to be the best catfish house in the whole area, but something happened - new cook, maybe - and the food is now just plain too greasy.

We are not from the area so all we had to go on were the other reviews. Boy they were wrong! Fish was over cooked with no flavor. Fries just gross. Fell like our money was wasted by stopping in. Do not let the other reviews fool you.

Local (not imported from Asia) fresh catfish cooked the way you want it. Served in a friendly atmosphere with excellent service. Bottomless drinks, choice of all you can eat or a generous portion meal. Reasonably priced and have other things to eat beside catfish.

The Catfish Kitchen has been a local favorite for decades. Located not far from the Montgomery Bell State park in the city of Burns. It's close to Dickson and a bit farther drive from Nashville, yet a pretty drive if you come from that distance. It's not your Beverly Hills ambience. It's a quaint Southern kitchen restaurant with simple tables... More

This is a country style restaurant next to Montgomery Bell State Park. Very, plain decor with oil cloth table cloths attached to the table. I ordered my fish broiled in lieu of fried. Very good service and sides. I strongly recommend!

We decided one Friday evening to make the short drive from Franklin, TN where we live to Burns, TN to go to the Catfish Kitchen for supper. The drive was beautiful. When we got there we remember that we had eaten there years before when camping at the State Park nearby. Even though the parking lot was packed, we were... More
