This is a great stop to eat on I-90 as you cross South Dakota. It is near the Missouri River crossing. We had a good all American breakfast there. The 5 cent coffee was good too. There's a lot more to see here if you have the time but we were just stopping for gas and breakfast.

Stopping at Al's is required when crossing South Dakota. Kids love it for all the candy and the huge slices of pie. The gift shop is surprisingly large and has something for everyone. The food is exactly what you'd imagine, the staff is very friendly, and as an added bonus there's a big grocery store attached. Best part: there are... More

While staying in this town I stopped in for dinner. The food was good. The staff was friendly and the prices were decent. I would eat here again.

03/28/16 at 5:10 p.m. When my wife and I arrived at the hostess desk, she was talking to one of the waiters, grabbed two menus and started walking off still talking to the waiter [her boyfriend?] got to the table and realized that my wife and I were left standing at her station. She motioned for us to come forward,... More

Not sure their food is their best asset. My Indian taco was tough and dry and my husband's patty melt was greasy, but the salad bar was great and they are noted for their pies. There is a lot of seating. ..the rooms go on and on, and there is definitely a lot of stuff to look at!

I don't mind writing a bad review, but I don't like mean-spirited rants, either. With that, I'll start off by saying that this little stop is one of those kitschy tourists stop on your trek across South Dakota and it can be a neat stop as we've stopped there a few times before. However, I was disappointed by this stop,... More

This is an interesting place for people visiting South Dakota to visit. Few shops and restaurants attached. Smaller menu, mostly American food. All you can eat salad/soup bar is a great value. Beer selection is limited. If you need a quick break it is worth the stop.

I have fond memories of visiting Al's as a child with my family when we traveled across the state, and we eat here once or twice a year on our travels. We stopped this weekend and we will NEVER go back. We were seated quickly, and while appearing bored with his job, our server was adequate. Unfortunately, our meals were... More

Al's Oasis is a must for every family heading to or from the Black Hills. I used to stop here multiple times a year as a kid. Clean and friendly with a big portion of old style home cooking! The pie is a must! Slightly disappointed in the hot turkey sandwich this go around...the gravy was SO salty I needed... More
