Been going to SG for about 50 years and always before great music and dancing ambience. Was there a week ago for Band of Oz show, which we had prepurchased tickets. Dance floor was 70% taken up of high top bar tables at $100+ per...table right in front of the band, leaving almost no room for people to dance, including the people at those tables. Band of Oz had 3 new members and they sang a lot of British tunes, irregardless of the fact that most people came to hear the beach music that made the band quasi-famous. We left, along with dozens of others, shortly after arriving. Kicker was we had gone to check on Oz perhaps playing at a private event but band leader Chuck French was strangely dismissive when we brought up their schedule. Will contact Embers soon re our needs. Would not recommend paying to see Band of Oz in their new composition or visiting the new SG that effectively has shrunk their dance floor.More

We were down for Cammy weekend and made our first visit to the club at Spanish Galleon that had the "go-go cages. The room is OK as a dance or listening club. We sat on the second level near the "side" bar worked by a...very nice gal (Brittney?). Wanted to take in the Tim Clark Band. However, sitting on the side on the second level we found that those "cages" blocked our view of the stage. Wondered what purpose they served and why they are still there? They impede the view of the stage from the second level vantage points on the sides. Just an observation. Folks working there are outstanding and the room has a good vibe. Prices are reasonable for beverages. We did prefer this room to the other one at Spanish Galleon, which was very crowded--and the band there couldn't touch Tim's band. See you again! Ditch the cages though.More

Known as the place to learn a dance called "the shag", this place also offers great live music and good food. Th fish tacos were delicious, but the philly wrap was the the best one I've ever eaten.

We go there almost every night for SOS weeks in April and September. It has a nice dance floor, but seating is limited. Love hearing the beach music bands there.

Good music, good dancing with great friends. Doesn't get better than that. The Spanish Galleon is where many of us learned to shag.

Don't waste your time going to this place to see a band. The events coordinator over booked by selling twice the amount the tickets There were no available seats or tables. The dance floor was covered with people standing shoulder to shoulder. We had looked...forward to seeing the show, but never saw the band. We had no place to even stand. I'd like a refund for the amount of money we spent on the package deal. We stayed at Ocean Drive Resort.More

This is the home of the "Shag", people come from all around to shag here in the summer and fall. Great place to learn to shag and have some great fun.

What's not to like about this place! 1. It's always crowded (for me that's a good thing) 2. It's two clubs in one. The Spanish Galleon is more of a traditional disco and the OD Beach Club is more of a place to hang out...and talk. There is an outdoor deck too. 3. There is always great music. Love the dueling DJs. 4. The bartenders and security are very friendly. 5. The drinks are cheap. $4.75 for a rum and coke. Only (slight) cons are that the cover is $10 and the lines can be long. But the lines move fast and you won't find a better place to spend your night than the Spanish Galleon. Hope to be back soon.More
