In town for a few days for a convention. A friend asked if I was up for an adventure Indian food! My answer was a simple three letter response YES!
One small problem. The lamb curry caught my mouth on fire. If you like spicy...it’s for you. Add the green sauce to really light up your tongue.
Delicious Garlic Naan will put out the fire in the best way.
Vegetable Samosa with ginger sauce tangy aromatic first course - must try.
Love the curry chicken, hearty portions.
Downside, zero ambience.
Upside - Excellent value.More
This restaurant has good potential to be one of great places around Charleston, but not sure if they need new chef or management,
Some times the food is extraordinarily great and sometimes you think what happened today was the chef in a bad mood.
Make...sure you try the food when the chef is at his best, hard to know as you would be throwing in the dark.More
When hungry for something different and are near the Northwoods mall in North Charleston then the Bombay Bazaar’s Buffet can’t be beat for the price. Open 11am to 10 pm lunch Monday to Sunday with dinner Sunday closed a great taste sensation can be had...every day of the week.More
Not the most elegant restaurant and in need of some cosmetic improvements, Bombay delivered very fine food, even though my wife and I waited almost an hour for our main course to be served. The lamb saag and naan bread that we had made our...wait worthwhile, with good pieces of lamb and spiced just as we had ordered. We will be back when we are not pressed for time.More
I have only ever ordered carryout, but have yet to be disappointed. Have ordered the vindaloo, tikka masala, the madras, multiple types of the naan and paratha, and appetizers. The portions are large. I've had one occasion where the tikka masala was a bit greasy...but that was the exception to the rule. If you like to have heat/spice you'll need to let them know as they seem to default to mild.
The store is awesome. Well worth a walk through. Great products to make your own indian dishes at home!More
Just ate lunch at Bombay Bazaar and was not a pleasant experience. The restaurant itself was filthy and poorly lit, probably to disguise the well worn wall trim and greasy carpets. The buffet was sparsely populated with offerings. Tasted all right but goat curry-more bones...than goat and chicken tikka masala's sauce had broken down into an unappealing pool of grease. Had to work hard with the serving spoon to play "spot the chicken". Even the tandoori chicken was swimming in a greasy concoction, loaded with sugar.
I'm aware that some Indian joints are not A+ with hygiene, I get that, but the whole set-up was foreboding and made me wish I'd picked a better choice. The area around the restaurant is a long faded strip mall landscape which added to the unsavory feel of Bombay Buzzard.More
A very nice indian restaurant and cuisine great staff, one of them being Clive. We know him since a long time , he is a very dedicated cook, but also performs other duties in the restaurant as well. Keep,it up
