Let me make this clear, this is by far one of the best breakfast restaurants, I have been to in many years. I first came to it in March 2022 with visiting fellow friend paratroopers after a long night celebrating. The visit made such an impression upon me, that I wanted to bring my wife to enjoy it. Both of us enjoyed the interactions from our waitresses, the wonderful food, and excellent service we received. I learned quickly that if you want to beat the hungover beach crowds, come before 9AM. It opens at 7 AM to 1 PM. I was so impressed with our visit, that I invited a group of retired US Army civilian friends from Fort Bragg, NC that we were together with, to a great breakfast on us. I have a tendency to always choose a good omelet. So, over my four visits, I have tried the 3-egg omelets called the Carolina, the Western, The Grand Strand, and the Feta & Spinach. Each were wonderful. You will get southern style grits or hash brown potatoes with buttered toast with these meals. I am a sucker for slow cooked grits. If you're in Myrtle Beach and want an excellent family breakfast, go straight to the Southern House of Pancakes.

Just left this very busy restaurant. Despite how busy it was service was efficient and friendly. Really enjoyed my eggs Benedict made just the way I ordered it and my husband ate every bite of his eggs with buttermilk pancakes and corn beef hash. Would definitely suggest this breakfast spot and return here

We ate here with our family of 4 as it was within walking distance (15 mins) of our resort (Ocean Reef). The place was busy, but we were seated quickly. We ordered 2 orders of the peanut butter cup pancakes, which myself, along with my 8 and 6 year old loved...delicious! My wife ordered the biscuits and gravy, which was excellent. The rest of the food we ordered was pretty average, and the portions were on the smaller side. $12.90 for 2 sides of bacon (6 strips) and 1 order of (2) sausage links was not worth the cost. Overall not a bad place to grab a bite by any means, but for $90 (that's including the tip), we'd probably choose somewhere else next time.

This was a bad experience from the beginning when we walked in the lady at the front was nasty and rude because we didn’t have our whole party there. Then when we got our food I saw a dead fly that was cooked into my eggs. As soon as they brought it I saw it immediately so I was really shocked as to how it made it to the table. I swear the server had to been on drugs just by the way she was acting it made me and our family feel very uncomfortable because she kept falling asleep when she was talking to us and her pupils were almost non existent. I had my 7 year old daughter with me asking questions why she was falling asleep. Then they overcharged me on our check because they have their servers hand write everything leaving more room for mistakes. You can the tell the owner doesn’t invest in to the place and will hire anyone. We will never go back , I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone .

Food was fine, but prices were high...taking advantage of tourist, even charged me a fee for using my credit card. I discovered it after the fact, perhaps they had a little sign somewhere saying they do that, but I sure did not see it. If you want to be in business, you pay your own merchant service credit charges, not you customers

My friends and I when here for brunch the other day. We live in MB and have heard good thing about the restaurant. (wanted to support local business) We do not recommend this restaurant. The food had no flavor and seasoning, very bland. The place is very small inside and you feel cramped. One of us had the French Toast and it was more like Wonder bread thinness then Texas toast. The Eggs Benedict was ok, the hollandaise sauce was food service grade.(package) I would do have it was a featured item on my menu. The omelette was average, fruit bowl small and bacon was wimpy. The only positive thing I have to say is the service was good. I would not waste my money! Also, bring cash, they charge a fee for using cards.

I went to Southern House of Pancakes in early November 2024 for breakfast while in MB for vacation. This is a little bit of a dual review since I went there twice. I have been to this place before on previous trips and enjoyed it, so I went back this time. The first trip was fine. There is plenty of parking and seating. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food on the first trip was good (French toast with bacon). The second trip was the issue. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with hash browns and toast. It came out fairly quickly, but there were a couple of BIG issues. The steak tasted like fish. This is bad sign on either storage or cooking. The second no-no was a hair in the hash browns. Someone in back is not using proper food handling protocols. Of course I left and went somewhere else to eat. It’s a shame I have to leave this review. I liked this place, but will never return after these issues.

Three of us went to the Southern Pancake House on a Thursday morning. The restaurant was moderately busy. All the servers were wearing masks, and the tables with diners were well spaced apart. We have been here before and make a point to stop here for their pancakes whenever we are in Myrtle Beach. I had the banana pecan & pancakes. They were good. I appreciated that they put the slices of banana into the pancake and not just layer it on top. The pecans are chopped up into small pieces, so their flavor and the crunchiness were mostly lost. My two sausage patties on the side were just OK, not much flavor. My wife had their banana pancakes and enjoyed them. Their pancakes are just fluffy enough and not heavy. My daughter ordered the crab cakes. They were awful! The crab cakes are not really fried; they were mushy. As for the crab cake, it was mainly filler (breadcrumbs). Their version of Hollandaise sauce is weird. None of us could taste any butter for lemon juice. It seemed more like a Velveeta cheese sauce. Our server was friendly and attentive. He was quick to bring us our drinks and checked up on us a few times. We love the ambiance of the Southern Pancake House. The inside is filled with whimsical southern sayings on signs and on their colorful T-shirts.

The breakfast was delicious though the pancakes were a little doughy in the middle. Our table also had a quiche and omelette which were great. Our server was Lori who had a great personality and was very engaging with our table. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and when we needed something she took care of it immediately. Thanks Lori, we will see you again soon.

We just happened upon this restaurant and were glad we did. Due to the large number of cars in the parking lot I think this may be a local favorite. They have a very extensive breakfast menu. I had country ham, eggs over medium, home fries with onions and a biscuit and my wife had scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. Everything was very good as was the friendly service.

We went here for a late breakfast and we all really enjoyed our food and service. We all got two eggs with bacon. I ordered the side of chipped beef gravy and my husband ordered a side of the hash. We always have great service and food when we come here and make it a point to visit every time we are in the area.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated. The staff was very kind. The food was average. It was our least favorite breakfast place that we went to while in Myrtle Beach. My husband asked for a chocolate milk and water and the waitress brought a chocolate milk and coffee. The waitress asked if he wanted whip cream on his pancakes, he said no, and when they came out they had whip cream on them. These were minor issues, but we don’t plan to return when we are in the area again. We would rather try somewhere else.

Had 3 waters, French toast for $6.25, plantation breakfast for $7.25 and steak and eggs for $14.95. We did substitute potatoes for the grits which was 99cents extra but somehow that came to $34 before tax or tip or even the 3.4% credit card usage charge. Not sure where those extra few dollars come in…but good breakfast and friendly waitress/staff. The potatoes and waffles were really good.

Southern House of Pancakes has yummy food, a great atmosphere and very attentive servers. It's a spacious restaurant with nice decor. We brought our daughter-in-law and special needs grandson there and the serv was so kind and accommodating with him. Our waitress, Lori, was very friendly and so much fun. Our food order was prompt, hot, and delicious. Great place to go for a delicious breakfast!
