Seafood served up like it was 30 years ago. Really fresh traditional fried and grilled shrimp and hush puppies with paper table clothes kind of place. Entrees aren't budget priced but fulfill your fish shack fantasy. This place looks like a dive but its the best meal we've had in Charleston, which is saying a lot.

The Wreck is off the beaten path and very very low key with a limited menu consisting of seafood. Stick with the seafood entrees, they are done well. The Seafood is very fresh. However, the option of grilled platters does not mean grilled oysters, if selected. They come fried, and that is not clearly indicated on the menu nor did... More

If you want a simple on the water (Shems Creek) dining, this is it. Their prices are very high for the amount of food you receive but the waitstaff is very accommodating and friendly. There are better restaurants in Mt. Pleasant.

The Wreck is a neat place right on the Shem Creek waters and offers a chill vibe. The restaurant was busy, so I can understand a little wait for food, drinks, etc., however, it was around an hour from the time we placed our order. The food was decent (broiled peanuts were delicious), but nothing special and is a tad... More

The recommendation we got for the Wreck from our local guests pushed us past our first impression of the place. It was also quickly obvious to us that the place looks like it does, a wreck, for added effect. The dining room is basically a covered deck with no frills, paper covered tables and plastic chairs, and meals are served... More

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing. It costs less than the other establishments that sit along Shem Creek and in my opinion the food is the best. Shrimp, scallops, red rice and hush puppies are all great. It is a paper plate and plastic drink cup type of place but the service surpassed our expectations. Very kind friendly... More

Unique, intentionally dumpy err... "rustic" restaurant... but it has a historic for that "look" which definitely adds some "charm". We did enjoy our very fresh, fried local seafood but check out the menu ahead of time to see if it will be what you want since the menu is very limited and a bit pricey. Also, the hours are limited.... More

This little off the beaten path gem is not much to look at on the outside, but what an awesome seafood restaurant right on the river.

When you arrive for your first visit, you'll think you're not in the correct place. No signs on the iffy looking building and one difficult to read sign on a wooden arch to the left of the building. However, don't be deterred by your surroundings. Our dinners were very good. Served on disposable plates with paper tablecloths the tasty treats... More

If you have read any of my other reviews you will notice that I like off the beaten path authentic local restaurants. The wreck is no exception. The food was great and the service was friendly. If your looking for a tourist attraction then this place is not for you. If you want fine dinning then go someplace else. But... More
