From steamed mussels to crab cakes and shrimp with homemade pasta—each dish was prepared exceptionally. The wait staff were attentive. A wonderful eating experience.

We really enjoyed our visit a few weeks ago. Our server, Libby was great and I had the BEST mussels I've ever tasted. My Lady had an excellently prepared salmon. The meal was preceded by two terrific dirty Martinis.

Not thrilled with dinner, I think they may have changed the chef. However, brunch was absolutely fabulous. We live on the island and will definitely be back!

My husband and I ate here last night. I ordered the special fish and a side of collards. Both were completely inedible because they were so heavily over salted. I didn’t make a fuss but, when the server asked if we wanted doggie bags, I...More

Great Sunday brunch...but also the Coop is a delightful spot for week night light dinner. The ambiance is great, and the service first class.

Went here on a recommendation from the nearby official visitor center: thank you! Never would have found this place otherwise. Located near the famous Angel Oak, among the wooded low country of johns island. Dinner service did not start until 5:30, but lucky for us...More

Chef Fred Neuville is excited to embark on his first solo venture. "With Fat Hen, I am striving to create a neighborhood restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and signature French-inspired Southern cuisine," he says. "Johns Island is a fast-growing area and I believe island residents - along with others from around Charleston - will appreciate what we have to offer." Fat Hen's main dishes center around innovative French classics with Low country flourishes, sourced from the finest local produce farmers. The Braised Chicken features locally raised free-range chicken braised in red wine with rich bacon lardons, root vegetables & mushrooms. Fat Hen's Short Rib, a favorite signature dish among family and friends, is braised for hours in a rich veal broth.
