Well this place needs a do over, dated, staff not responsive, like zombies, food was diner food or less, price was average, OK to stop and get a quick bite, but you may want to go to the next Exit to a food chain. Other than that the area is interesting,

In spite of the billboards every mile on I-95, Pedros's is rundown, seedy, and mostly abandoned. A far cry from the glory days.

Below carnival quality food - just awful. What a disappointment... Junky interior (not in a fun retro way) just junky. Not very clean - or maybe whole place was just dingy.

South of the border is a landmark on the 95 corridor. Over 60 years old, it allows the driver to know that they have crossed over into South Carolina when coming from the north. But they really haven't made any spectacular improvements to the place. Food is terrible! Shops are terrible. Bathrooms are old with cinder block walls. Keep driving!

Where Pedros Diner used to be, it is now called the Sombrero. I understand that the building where the Sombrero used to be was torn down. So now the restaurant that used to be called Pedros is now called the Sombrero. We had dinner at the Sombrero last night, asking were Pedros was and they explained it. Fried Chicken and... More

nothing to write home about, but along this stretch of road, it's the best breakfast you're going to get. Simple diner options, can't go wrong with the egg dishes.

The steakhouse was closed so we ate here, thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was very good, and the house fried chicken was excellent. Be advised while you can have a drink this is definitely a kids domain.

The clever billboards along the highway entice the weary traveler. My family laughed as we read one after the other, my favorite being; "Sausage you be here? You are a wiener at Pedro's". How could you pass that by? The neon signs and giant statues of mules, giraffes and more looked so fun from the exit ramp we were sure... More

Had the taco salad and it was great. Big portion so I had a snack for later. Fried Chicken was great as well.

This is one of the central restaurants at South of the Border. I think it's open longer hours than some of the others. We liked the booth-style seating, and the menu has something for everyone. The ambience isn't quite up to South of the Border style. That only means it's a typical restaurant/diner with a few reminders of the kitschy... More
