I really want to love this place. The atmosphere is so cool in an old warehouse. The charm of the (what could be so fantastic) is dappened by a couple things. First, the place needs background music. It is so quiet in there and the music will help. The service in the wine bar is AWEFUL! And most recently the... More

We live around the corner from Northampton Wine Cafe and enjoy the Saturday Chefs lunch specials. The cafe is usually very crowded but the ambiance is great. You can also sit on the terrace if the weather cooperates. On Saturdays, you have four selections on the menu which change weekly. The service is impeccable and the food is always good.... More

We wanted a small, casual meal so we chose the bar. The mussels were excellent (served with complimentary bread), the lump crab "burger" was equally good. Pleasant service by the bartender who also gave us a mini tour of the extensive wine shelves. A bit pricey but we enjoyed it.

We've always had great tasting food here. We stopped for a quick bite at the bar. I had shrimp tacos - very tasty. My wife had beef turnovers - very flaky crust and excellent taste. We will keep coming back.

Recent dinner at Northampton and we loved it. One on a rainy Monday night so the restaurant was not busy. We picked a great bottle of wine in the store at a fair price and enjoyed a terrific meal. Food was great with an interesting menu. If you like wine with your food this is a really good place since... More

This was my first time to dine here. The food is excellent. I would definitely get a bottle of wine instead of by the glass. Glass pours are small. Try the chili seafood appetizer. It is flash fried and delicious. Next time we may just visit the bar area. It is busy in the early evenings and has a fun... More

Very elegant and intimate. Exceptional menu in the European style. With wine shop next door, one of most extensive wine lists in town. Courteous and helpful staff. Perfect place to impress a client or please a date.

We went on a day they were having a wine tasting, so they were quite busy. There was a separate dining room among shelves of wine, and while we waited to be served our meal, husband roamed around checking out the wines. The food was quite good, wife having a Ham & Swiss Ciabata, husband an Enchilada entree. Each had... More

I can't believe it has taken us this long to discover this hidden gem! North Hampton is like visiting someone's carefully curated private wine cellar. You are allowed to browse through the the store and restaurant to pick a bottle of wine to accompany your dinner (for a $10 corking fee). We picked a French grand cru, which I will... More

The food was delicious, the wine went perfectly and the waiter, Chris was a good waiter. My friend had blackened salmon with a Mexican twist. It was served with black beans and cilantro on a bed of local cheese grits. I had braised short ribs in a wine based sauce with roasted tomatoes, beets and carrots on a bed of... More

Description
The type of cuisine varies from week to week, but mostly it's comprised of Napa/Sonoma Valley California type of food. This restaurant might want to remain unlisted on TripAdvisor, but I thought it merited singing their praises. The food is fabulous, gourmet style, James Beard would be proud. This is a place you go when you want to enjoy a glass of wine, learn about the wine and actually taste food, not have bland gargantuan size meals. It can be pricey if you go for dinner, but the inexpensive way to go is to go on a Saturday, eat from the lunch menu or go early on a Friday eat in the bar area and enjoy food off the menu. There is also relaxing outdoor seating which is a wonderful place to eat and meet after work. I highly recommend looking into this restaurant.
