We have made it a habit to check out restaurants on Trip Advisor and have never been disappointed. Di Prato's is a deli that serves breakfast and lunch and was awesome. Our waitress, Kayla, was as sweet as could be and made suggestions what to try and boy did she do a good job. A great waitress! She brought us... More

Stopped in for lunch based on other reviews and so glad we did! There are lots of places to have lunch in Columbia, but this is one that offers something for everyone. You can tell from the crowds (we came on a mid-week day and it was packed) that the locals love this place. Even as busy as they were,... More

In the midst of the University of South Carolina and lovely downtown Columbia, Di Prato's offers delicious items to satisfy a wide range of tastes. Brunch, lunch, yummy desserts, and take-outs for appetizers at home or to tailgate--all with that Southern touch.

Great, friendly place with real deli sandwiches, an excellent brunch, and unique sides! We walked in and were seated immediately. The server was courteous and professional. The surroundings were clean and comfy. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I were driving through Columbia on our way to NC and, on a whim, asked a college friend for a recommendation for a restaurant in town. She and her husband had lived there recently and, although she now lives in another country, when asked she gave me Di Prato's as an immediate recommendation. I am so glad.... More

DiPratos has gone down hill. They do not take reservations so you stand in line to sit at tables that are too small for the number of chairs they assign. We were there on Sunday morning and it is a nightmare. Most of the food is good but don't even think it is all made in the kitchen. My wife... More

Visiting my daughter who's in Grad School in Columbia and looking for brunch on a Saturday. Di Prato's came highly recommended and we found out why. Very nice assortment of breakfast items and also items from deli menu. I had the Banana Pecan Pancakes which were fantastic, great service, too. Be aware this is near USC, so it get's busy.... More

This was my 3rd visit and never disappointed. Last time I had a wonderful fresh tuna salad and this time the triple decker Rueben. Both are great, but the Rueben was almost out of this world. They have a terrific pimento cheese dip and all sorts of great deli combinations, and deserts that cause weight gain just looking at them.... More

DiPrato's is a wonderful cafe. Everything is good there, but we especially like the pimento cheese and pita chips. Heavenly! The tomato soup is awesome and I love all of their salads. Each day there are specials to choose from. I like to get some pimento cheese and chicken salad to take with us on the boat when the weather... More

Ate there today after reading TA reviews. Thanks to all that reviewed it before me because it was great! Had to wait about 15 min. for a table when we arrived at noon because of the brunch crowd. There was a wait for tables to entire time we were there, that is how good it was. The entire staff and... More

DiPrato's Delicatessen opened May 2004, and, today, the DiPrato's Experience affords patrons a rewarding escape from ordinary fare. The reward? Delectable food, beautiful décor, and a beguiling balance: friendly service and a pleasant, neighborly feeling. DiPrato's, located where the Purple Cow grocer operated, graces a quiet neighborhood barely off the beaten path. Driving up, you notice the rich red brick, set off by greenery, and spacious windows where light pours in. Approaching the wooden, double-door entrance, a thought comes to mind. You're about to enjoy the DiPrato's Experience. You could say a Southern breeze laden with Italian accents drifts through this New York style delicatessen. Dine if you like on the patio where the glassy splash of falling water melts away concerns. Pita chips and pimento cheese are a real treat! Blend Dianne Light and Bill Prato's presence and culinary skills and you get a wonderfully popular delicatessen-DiPrato's.
