This is one of our favorite restaurants when visiting Columbia. We suggested that our out-of-town friends have lunch on the day they arrived and they liked it so much that we had lunch again during their visit.

Very good service and very good food. Only problem is that I need a bigger mouth because the sandwiches are so thick

Walked in and people were lines up almost of the door. No wonder. Delicious food (pastrami sandwich and pimiento cheese were amazing), great service (the wait cleared out fast and our server was willing to wait for the other couple to join us before we...More

Stopped in with a friend for lunch and tried a chicken and tuna salad. I was surprised when our waiter asked my dressing preference but saw why when the salad arrived. Two fair sized scoops of tuna and chicken salad on a bed of lettuce...More

Most people hope to find a tasty sandwich and salad restaurant near their work---the people of downtown Columbia have that with Di Prato's. The day I dined it was a mixture of working people, seniors with money and time on their hands and the baby...More

My husband and I went here for an anniversary brunch. We didn't realize until we got downtown that it was graduation day for USC, but we decided we would go to eat anyway. The restaurant was incredibly crowded, but it didn't take too long to...More

My wife and I came here for lunch recently. Glad we did! I had the Triple Decker Corned Beef Rueben, and I have to say it was the best sandwich I have ever had. My wife had the Portabella Mushroom Sandwich and really enjoyed it....More

Had lunch here. It does seem to get fairly busy around normal lunch time. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. The food was really good. I liked everything I tried. I had half a chicken salad sandwich. It was one of...More

Description
DiPrato's Delicatessen opened May 2004, and, today, the DiPrato's Experience affords patrons a rewarding escape from ordinary fare. The reward? Delectable food, beautiful décor, and a beguiling balance: friendly service and a pleasant, neighborly feeling. DiPrato's, located where the Purple Cow grocer operated, graces a quiet neighborhood barely off the beaten path. Driving up, you notice the rich red brick, set off by greenery, and spacious windows where light pours in. Approaching the wooden, double-door entrance, a thought comes to mind. You're about to enjoy the DiPrato's Experience. You could say a Southern breeze laden with Italian accents drifts through this New York style delicatessen. Dine if you like on the patio where the glassy splash of falling water melts away concerns. Pita chips and pimento cheese are a real treat! Blend Dianne Light and Bill Prato's presence and culinary skills and you get a wonderfully popular delicatessen-DiPrato's.
