We were seated in the loft. Though the noise level was a bit too high for easy conversation, we judged it a very pleasant dining experience. This place has a cozy-friendly feel, is loaded with personality, and is popular with an eclectic mix of college...More

Spent the afternoon at the Hunter-Gatherer Curtiss-Wright hangar location and absolutely enjoyed it. Several beers on tap, bar food and a first rate location to hang out with friends. Plenty of room outside for your two and four legged little ones to run around.

The beer was pretty good. The chicken gyro was wonderful. My boyfriend had the mac and cheese which didn't have much of the crust the menu described. Side salads were decent. Atmosphere was nice.

Hunter-Gatherer Brewing is now open at their second location, which this review will be about. It is in an old airport hangar and the history and ambience is one of a kind. They had beers on tap and they were serving two kinds of pizza...More

It was raining at dusk and didn't see a sign for Hunter-Gatherer Brewery. We parked and ran through the rain thinking it was a Mexican restaurant. We knew right away it was not, but stayed because we had paid for parking and to avoid rain....More

Ate dinner here a couple of times last month and the food was great. The specials were superb - we had the salmon and the lamb specials. Went back yesterday and did not have a good experience. What happened?

I am not a big fan of all the brew craze because my beer taste is not quite that heavy, but I enjoyed an evening here where I did sip on one of their lighter creations. It was good for a change of pace. I...More

On parent's weekend visiting our daughter at USC we came here for lunch. Service was spot on. Drinks were very tasty, tacos were tasty and chips & guacamole nice & fresh. If you can get a seat, worth a trip!

Sorry for the slow and partially helpful response. For us a large group is 8-12, most often we can seat 8-12 people in a reasonable amount of time. A group of more than 12 would have to find separate tables. We don't take... More

Description
Hunter-Gatherer Brewery has been brewing and serving classic ales since 1995. Starting in 2015, we will regularly feature cask-conditioned ales served from wood kilderkins made by Alastair Simms, the only master cooper in the United Kingdom. Michael Jackson, aka the "Beer Hunter", visited the Hunter-Gatherer Brewery in 1997. He wrote that the Hunter-Gatherer is "the kind of place CAMRA (Campaign For Real Ale) members might enjoy. The beer is the hero, rather than the brewery being an afterthought. In the U.S., And even sometimes in Britain, the latter is too often the case." Michael Jackson was the best beer writer and critic the world has known. A compliment from Michael Jackson is as meaningful as it gets in the brewery world.
