Recommended by out hotel staff and we were not disappointed. We had the pulled pork sandwich. It was fresh and huge! The flavoring was cooked in with the pork.If you wanted to add more seasoning there were plenty of choices at the table. We went there for lunch and it was so big,we were full for the rest of the day! I would recommend this place for anyone wanting a true pulled pork sandwich or any other type of southern food. They also have a full service bar.

Took a few out of town friends there this evening (3/7/20) and we ordered the family plate. On the plate there was every type of meat they offered at the restaurant along with 3 sides. Because no one in our group liked pork bellies, we were able to substitute and received extra pulled pork. The food was excellent except for the brisket portion which was a bit skimpy. However, everything else was excellent. Our servers were very attentive and frequently checked on us to see if we needed anything else. The restaurant also offered a nice selection of draft beers which we enjoyed. If you like to sample verious types of BBQ at one meal, this is the place to go.

It was just as well we decided to visit Swig & Swine on a Sunday evening as we noticed a higher than normal (for us) number of establishments were not open. The parking lot was packed and we were lucky enough to get the last available slot. Still, upon entering, we had only a short wait before being offered a seat at the counter. There are four stools overlooking the food prep area and we eventually ended up meeting with another couple from Michigan that was seated after us. Everything on the menu was tempting and we settled on sharing the brisket and pulled pork with coleslaw and hash & rice sides. It was a wonderful meal. We enjoyed bantering with our server, watching and speaking with the person prepping plates for other diners, and getting to know the couple we shared the counter with. I also very much enjoyed sampling the five different BBQ sauces available. My favourites were the Mustard and the Sweet Red although they were all good. Returning to try the other BBQ offerings would be reason enough for me to come back to Charleston.

We ordered the family plate at dinner for the four of us and there was enough left over for lunch the next day. The comes with brisket, pulled port, chicken wings, smoked turkey, ribs, pork belly and three sides. We liked the mac and cheese and corn but wouldn't get the hash and rice again. They gave us five different sauces to try and we liked the mustard, sweet and spicy. Tables were spaced out due to COVID-19 and wait staff was very helpful and friendly.

We had originally had reservations for a restaurant in downtown Charleston for dinner, but after reading reviews of the other place, we chose to cancel and head to Swig & Swine. Our meal here was (by far) the culinary highlight of our trip to Charleston! I had the ribs with Brussels sprouts and corn pudding. It was ridiculously good. My husband had the special of the day which was whole hog BBQ. He swears it was the most tender, juicy pork that he’s ever had. We saved half of our meals because it was imperative that he try the banana pudding. He is sort of a connoisseur of banana pudding, as it’s his all-time favorite dessert. This did not disappoint! I tried the bourbon chocolate pecan pie, which was also fabulous. It’s basically a whole single-serving pie, and I couldn’t stop eating it. To make our visit even better, our server was beyond excellent. Just the right amount of attentiveness with no hovering made her level of service the best we experienced in Charleston. We have had BBQ all over the country. Growing up smack in between TX, KC, and Memphis, we’ve had a lifetime of amazing barbecue experiences. This restaurant could win a BBQ battle against any of them. Do yourself a favor, and get off of the peninsula to hit up this restaurant! It’s small, but totally worth a wait (we didn’t have to wait at all).

If you are hungry for some good home cooking or just looking for a spot to have a quick drink in a good location -- look no further. Swig & Swig is the place to go. The food, all of it, is tasty, and no matter what you select, you will not be disappointed. The restaurant is casual and the staff is professional, friendly, funny and makes you feel like family. You have got to get Jean M. as your waitress and have Mandy mix you up some mean drinks a the bar. It was our first time stopping in but we quickly decided Swig & Swine is now our go-to place. The pig out front is hilarious. Do your self a favor and stop in or order your goodies to go. Either way, prepare to lick your fingers while you eat. The best restaurant I have eaten in a very long time. I am in love!! My new spot!! Yvonne

Our family came here while visiting our new Navy Nuke. We have been Texans all our lives, so when looking to try local BBQ fare, the last thing we wanted to do was eat Texas-style BBQ. That made the choice easy. We were so happy with our decision to try Swig and Swine. Doesn't look like much from outside (Savannah location), but it is great. The food options, the sides, the drinks, and even the service is great. We almost didn't get any "swig" as it wasn't immediately offered to us. However, when we did realize they had a bar and we got the drink menu we were very pleased. They have a large selection of cocktails, beers, and liquors. We decided the family platter was the best bargain and we were correct. Sausage, brisket, pulled pork, pork belly, smoked turkey, ribs, and chicken wings, as well as picked veggies, three sides, and bread, plus sauce. Amongst the three of us, including a young Navy sailor, we couldn't finish it all. We chose mac & cheese, baked potato salad, and corn pudding (which was the fave). Our waitress was very cheerful, letting us try samples of sauces and sides. Can't say enough how great this place is. We will definitely be back here next time we visit.

This was our 1st time and decided to trust my wife's friend's recommendation and try it. It was very laid back, not a bunch of noise but a festive tone. The food was outstanding. The pig ears a d pimento was out of this world. Service was quick and our server, Belinda, was a delight. Nothing superficial about this lady. Genuine as can be when being helpful and kind. The manager was extremely attentive and expressed gratitude several times for eating there. Will definitely visit again and have already shared with friends and family. Keep up the good work.

Best BBQ we’ve had in a while. The vinegar slaw was great and reminded me of my grandmother’s recipe. My husband ordered the ribs and could not stop talking about how good they were, told every waitress that walked by. Portion sizes were on point, we ordered a banana pudding and a blueberry crumble to take home. Both were equally amazing.

I can never get enough BBQ. My husband and I stopped here on our way back from Magnolia Plantation. Great food and drinks. We got the family dinner, so we could try everything! Brunswick Stew was great - wished they served it in a sturdier bowl. No room for dessert. Next time.

Coming from Oklahoma and currently living in Texas, I wanted to try South Carolina barbecue. A group of 10 of us were seated promptly at 2 different tables so we could adhere to the COVID guidelines. Each table had different servers. One table had great service, the other, not so much. She was a bit abrasive. Quite a bit of time passed and we had to ask to order to which she replied “Yeah I will be with you in a minute.” It was a very long long minute. She wasn’t very friendly and honestly we wondered if she enjoyed what she was doing. We got the family meals and we’re pleased with the amount of food given. The sausage, wings, smoked pork belly and pulled pork were the best. The rub for the wings was so good! The brisket and turkey were a bit dry. We loved the different sauce choices. Some of us loved the vinegar based sauce and also the red sauce. The greens and macaroni and cheese were really good. The corn casserole was also a good choice. Overall, we were glad we gave it a try!

You owe it to yourself to try this restaurant. It has a huge following and once you taste their fare you'll know why. Waitresses are friendly and efficient. Food is so gosh darn good you can't stop stuffing yourself. My husband and I each had the $15.00 Pulled pork platter that came with 1/2# of pulled pork and 2 sides of your choice. I chose the baked beans and the baked macaroni and cheese. Wonderful, there is nothing better than southern style mac and cheese. My husband ordered the potato salad (mind you this is a man who dislikes potato salad) and he could not quit raving about it. He even asked the waitress how it was made because it was so creamy. Secret won't be revealed by me. The Swig and Swine offers beef, pork and chicken bbq and they serve alcohol and soft drinks. There is some outdoor dining as well as indoor dining. It is handicapped accessible.

I took my clients there to celebrate their new home and we each tried basically every item that our server BELINDA recommended. Everything was exactly as she described and the little extras ( like the pickled onions and cucumbers and all the great sauces) made a huge difference. I particularly enjoyed the Brisket and corn pudding and amazing collards...and especially the Bourbon Flight! I will definitely return to that location and I look forward to checking out their Mount Pleasant spot too!

Let me start by saying that my husband and I are BBQ snobs. Living close to Memphis, we have many great restaurants at our disposal. I wanted to try some Carolina BBQ while in town and we were definitely not disappointed! In fact, we loved it! Our server Diana was so attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended the smoked Brussel sprouts and corn pudding for sides. I chose those and had the brisket—which was probably the best I’d ever had. It was so moist and tender. My husband had ribs, hash and Brunswick stew. Everything was delicious and our service was top notch!! We started with chicken wings, which were perfectly cooked-smoky and crispy! We highly recommend Swig &Swine!!
