We have been here a number of times, but we were partially disappointed on a recent visit. One of our party had pasta, which was terrific as usual. But the other special entrees (one veal and one seafood) were just average. Lesson to us is to stick with the pasta, and we'll be happy.

The wife and I had a late lunch in their outdoor patio. Service was slow since the only server had to handle inside and out as well as the bar. We had our Yorkie with us and that was great. The food was good , but not outstanding. We had two appetizers ( the chicken liver pate plate and an... More

My family and I were visiting other family in Charleston, and they recommended this place. It was not very crowded early on a weeknight, so we were seated quickly at our reserved table. The service was great. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with a background soundtrack of piano jazz standards. The cocktails were good and there was an extensive and... More

A combination of convenience to where we were staying (we do not live in Charleston) and prior reviews on OT & TA led us to this restaurant . We were also influenced by Restaurant Week and selected our food from that menu. The choices were more than adequate. The quality & quantity of food was mixed. Portions were small. The... More

I had the Gnocci, my wife had the fettucine bolognese, and my daughter had chicken parmesan, all three dishes were awesome because of the various Italian sauces the cook put on the dishes. The secret is truly in having a good cooked meal and then the Italian sauces put these plates over the top. Right up there with Bricco Bracco,... More

I found this restaurant on open table and was very pleased with food and service.the atmosphere was nice and the free valet parking really helped as parking was very limited,My only disappointment was the limited menu but my meal was great.

Avondale's gem. How refreshing to finally find an Italian restaurant that is owned by Italians! The food is delicious from the carpaccio to pasta specials. Great wine list, nice portions and the gravy!!!! (Sauce for those unfamiliar) Don't miss dining al fresco here. It's lovely and right priced.

OK, so I am a born and bred Italian from New York with a discerning palette for Italian food. Having said this, the wife wanted Italian, so I agreed expecting not to be impressed. The dishes we had were terrific, authentic and the service was on spot. Shame on me. Already recommended the restaurant to friends who just bought a... More

This is a great restaurant for a truly Italian atmosphere with delicious selections. The meatball and bruschetta appetizers were a table favorite, as were the tiramisu, cheesecake, and galati trio desserts. Entrees did not disappoint either, with the chicken parmesan so tender it practically melted in your mouth.

Wife and I celebrated our anniversary tonight at Al Di La. We hadn't been in a while and it was a lovely evening so off to West Ashley. Started with two glasses of Prosecco and the mussels, which were both delicious. The mussels came with a brown broth that was taken care of with the accompanying toast. Then went on... More
