Menu options are great. I had shrimp and grits. Grits were very creamy. Biscuits are delicious. Pimento cheese fritters were also good. Gave four stars due to food only being slightly warm when served.

Poogan's Porch was my first taste of Charleston's culinary excellence. My boyfriend and I were impressed with not only the atmosphere and food, but the service. Service was impeccable. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about all dishes, kind, and helpful with wonderful food and drink suggestions. And the food - oh the food! Nothing less than delicious. From the hot... More
Great ambiance. The staff has good knowledge of the menu. We all ordered something different and all were pleased. Beware that unless you make a reservation you might not make it !
Poogan's Porch is an annual favorite and for good reason. The wine selection is excellent, and the food always imaginatively prepared. The service is friendly, and we always know we will get a good meal here. Until next year, Poogan's Porch!
Wanted to check out this location for a possible rehearsal dinner site. So we dropped in mid afternoon and decided to get dessert. Located on Queen street, parking in parking decks near by or a small lot beside the place, if spots available.Needed to... More
Visited for lunch. Had the cheeseburger, very good and huge. The homemade chips outstanding. If you are looking for a refreshing drink, I recommend the Strawberry Top Hat. Also, the Bloody Mary is awesome as well. Our waiter was very attentive. All staff are so friendly and welcoming.
It is an old Victorian house that has been converted into a fine restaurant. It was a cold day and we were seated at a table for two by a fireplace. It was very romantic. My husband said his fried chicken was very light and the best he ever had. I had She Crab Soup which was excellent. I also... More
The atmosphere was great! We were able to sit outside with our dog. The staff was terrific, and we beat the lunch crowd. The Chicken and Waffles were absolutely fantastic! What a great place. We will visit again!

Original owner was Bob Greathouse, my brother. After Bob retired to Florida with his wife Judy, I believe
he left the restaurant to his daughter. Does she still run the place? Thank you for your time and I look forward
to your reply.
We are interested in coming this month for lunch. We have a 7 year old behaved child. Is your restaurant child friendly for a Saturday lunch?
